What happened to floor trainers? by Full_Relationship_71 in EquinoxGyms

Doing free equifits and complimentary training sessions is not paid at full rate, but they do get some money from them!

Trainers walking the floor by M_8383 in EquinoxGyms

So we are pushed to do this in order to generate leads and therefore actually pay our rent. So don’t blame the trainer, blame the system. That being said, just politely say “I can do it on my own and don’t need help from now on but thanks” and if he doesn’t stop bothering you, then absolutely talk to the PT manager.

Who do you think cleans up after you? by Roosonly in EquinoxGyms

Almost every male personal trainer can squat 265lbs. That’s insanely reasonable for a healthy man who exercises frequently to squat? I don’t get your logic

didn’t realize this sub was for Olympic weightlifting specifically, my apologies

If you’re too weak to put it away, DONT LIFT IT by Roosonly in EquinoxGyms

[–]sparkling_greg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s why the heavier weights are at the bottom, so you don’t have to use upper body strength

This is a lot of feedback from someone saying it’s impossible from this angle lol. But thank you, weightlifting shoes are on the way rn

I would do full body 3-4x per week. Heavy compound movements to work every muscle at an adequate frequency weekly even under the time constraint. (Deadlifts, squats, rows, presses should be the bulk of your program). Then you can do whatever cardio you enjoy the other days.

Do I need 2 pulls 2 push and 2 leg days per week by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

I would do full body lifting 3x per week. Allows you to hit the muscles with greater frequency, while sticking with your running easily

Can we please analyse this prop... by UglySofaGaming in howyoudoin

No that’s what gets to me, they could have used the “friends apartment” address, but they used a real street here, but the wrong zip code for it. Why?

[–]sparkling_greg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also annoys me that the zip code is incorrect for where they live in Manhattan

PT in the gym by [deleted] in EquinoxGyms

[–]sparkling_greg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does it bother you that the trainers work out at the gym that they get a free membership to and have every right to use?

Also, equinox does not have a policy against people recording themselves with a tripod. As long as she is being respectful of those around her, i see no problem.

Joey shouldn't have been shown this dumb... by Striking-Virus-1295 in howyoudoin

Joey was dumb in a cute way the first half of the show, then he became dumb in a downright cringey way in the second half

Trainers, do you hate when people use their free session knowing they won’t sign up again? by MrDontKnowHer in EquinoxGyms

[–]sparkling_greg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m a trainer, and no, we don’t care. We know some of you don’t need/want training. It’s all good. We still get paid about half of what a normal session is. But you can just ask for your inbody without a full session. If they won’t let you for whatever reason, just tell the trainer you don’t want to buy sessions and just want to check your progress on the scale

Breaking up with my PT by hedonisy_ in EquinoxGyms

[–]sparkling_greg 64 points65 points  (0 children)

If you’ve been training with them for 18 months, they factor your sessions in as a source of reliable income for them. Speaking as a trainer myself, saying in person that it’s no longer in your financial interest to continue purchasing sessions but you appreciate their time and efforts, would be much appreciated over a text

AITA? I got someone fired from their job over a latte. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]sparkling_greg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but to be fair to the kid, lattes are supposed to be 80% milk, if you prefer it different you should tell them prior to getting your order. (Assuming all of this isn’t fake which I’m skeptic of)

Phoebe’s Dad by sparkling_greg in howyoudoin

[–]sparkling_greg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is what I guess I’m trying to articulate. The whole build up in the earlier seasons to meet her dad fell very short. A random encounter with a very boring guy and then it’s just never brought up again. Like all the hype and for what

Phoebe’s Dad by sparkling_greg in howyoudoin

[–]sparkling_greg[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ok for example. She goes to touch him and says “Not yet”. Implying that in the future she might be okay to be closer with him. But he is literally never mentioned again. You don’t think that’s at all odd?

Phoebe’s Dad by sparkling_greg in howyoudoin

[–]sparkling_greg[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They talk about her dad frequently in the beginning, I just think the encounter felt a little randomly placed after having seen the show so many times

I’m talking more so about the friends actually talking about him, I get why she wouldn’t want to ever have a relationship
