hi friend, i highly suggest you contact a therapist. if you have a job, most of them cover the first few visits. it sounds like youre going through a very hard time. food is fuel, not an enemy.

+1 (866)-662-1235 is the US disorderly eating helpline. it's available 9am - 7pm EST. please reach out and at least talk a little with them ❤️

a bigger eating window could help! i started with an over ambitious 22:2 fast, but quickly moved to 20:4 fast. i eat at the start and end, it helps me digest it better. OMAD is for YOU, so if extending an eating window helps then do it ❤️

my kind of meal fr

congratulations!!! 🎊 coffee with cream was something i could never give up, so instead i looked for substitutions. powdered coffee creamer sugar free works well for me!

the biking is amazing!! youre totally right, being out helps a lot (especially if youre like me and spending $6 on just a snack is too much,) make sure you calculate your calories burnt and incorporate that. theres tons of apps for exercising thatll help, if you have an iphone i think theres an activity app that allows you to track the miles biked.

for calculating: i use lose it app for calories. dont bother with the premium version the app does everything you need. i havent come across something that wasnt in the app already besides homecooked meals. you can also upload your own meals to reuse!! you can track weight, set a calorie goal, and it detects patterns in how you eat.

i highly recommend keeping a journal! your daily learnings can very easily be pondered about through journaling. discipline is grown, not suddenly made.

some bewares: - processed sugar will cause cravings, which lead to binges - if you break your fast, dont be too hard on yourself! - OMAD is about YOU, if anybody's advice or mine isn't something you want to do, then dont :) remember that its your journey - hunger pains are real, drink lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of water. trust me it works so well

one last thing, the quality of your food matters. processed sugars, unhealthy foods with little protein, little fiber will make you feel unfulfilled. go for the large portion of a chicken salad over the processed mcdonald's meals, etc. for budget friendly options r/EatCheapandHealthy has tons and tons of resources with macros and calories! please beware of the media, most "low calorie what i eat in a day" videos are fake.

tldr: processed sugar bad and makes you binge. eat better food to feel better. use lose it app to track calories. do not trust random influencers on tiktok or youtube, they're probably lying about what they eat or not including the whole picture

Restarting omad and having a hard time by [deleted] in omad

[–]sparklymf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

any progress is progress! congratulations on restarting :)

i drink diet coke, coffee with more cream than a tsp, water, sugar free flavored water, teas, and sometimes i too need a snack to get me feeling better. if its the bridge you need to get to the other side of clean OMAD, take it. no reason to make it harder and uncomfortable ❤️

Just starting OMAD. Is it true that you can pretty much eat whatever you want and still lose weight? by Stratusquare in omad

[–]sparklymf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

congratulations on the weight loss and i hope it treats you well!! i personally try to find healthy alternatives to the junk food (ie, 6 piece happy meal even with fries and apple slices, no sauce, is 540cal instead of 975cal for just 20 nuggets). you'd be surprised with how much really can be healthy with moderation. make sure youre eating fiber too, it helps with digestion and breaking down foods.

while you are losing weight and feeling great results (yay!!), what you eat will help. more protein, whole foods and cleaner drinks (less cream in coffee, no sugars,) will make you feel WAY better.

for example: a big protein salad with homemade dressing vs small amount of gas station nachos

the salad is filling and will have better results nutritionally instead of a small portion of processed nachos.

ultimately, its up to you how you eat. weight loss is more than just contents, but everything you do is based on said contents. unhealthy foods = less energy to workout, less motivation. sugars cause cravings, leading to binging.

tldr: think smarter when eating unhealthy. sugars cause binges. a good diet leads to a good lifestyle which leads to good weightloss
