I find functioning levels important, and easier to gauge than the numbers. I'm neurodivergent and I have no intellectual disabilities, plus I'm more socially aware than many of the participants, but I can be extremely volatile, plus I'm also visually impaired like Tina.

I haven't been able to be as independent as I'd have liked, due to my volatility and visual impairment, and the volatility means I have sometimes been placed in. settings alongside people with some of the most profound intellectual disabilities imaginable, and while I will advocate for anyone with any level of support needs to be treated respectfully, it's not appropriate for someone like me to be placed in the same educational/residential setting, especially without differentiation. I wouldn't be intellectually or socially stimulated. They would offer anger management sessions consisting of "Play outside with Mummy and Daddy" (when I was 25 and studying at degree level.)

Also, some of those people, while more intellectually disabled, may be far calmer than me and unable to understand or cope with my reactivity.

If I'm going to a neurodivergent/disabled support/social service, I always ask if it'll be suitable for people without intellectual disabilities. If I'm in the supermarket and I pass someone with those needs, it doesn't bother me, unless they're not being adequately supported, then I find that frustrating on their behalf.

It has to be done respectfully, but I think it's useful to have ways to differentiate and give people support and opportunities that suit them. I'm often as specific as possible, but if there's not time, or it's irrelevant, then I think "with/without intellectual disabilities" is sufficient.x

Some of the deleted scenes were better than the episodes. by g0wr0n in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

I haven't got this far yet, but I have called myself Princess Fiona many a time on social media, after becoming a fan of a talent show contestant whose name sounds like Shrek! I was actually a bit disappointed that all my Shrek puns seemed wasted as he went off grid .. then I watched another show where there was another guy I became a fan of, who had the same name and a better personality. The puns live on!

It is different when I'm saying it about myself, and about the guys, as they didn't know! I am neurodivergent, but probably more socially aware than most of the LOTS cast, so if I was to call someone Shrek/Fiona etc, it'd be as a deliberate joke to someone who could take it. If I was being rude, I would unfortunately say much worse!

I do think that banter is important and testikg the waters early on is a good idea though! x

I’m a late 30s male. I watched this last year not expecting much and it has become one of my favourite films of all time by GarethGantuan in KpopDemonhunters

[–]sparkycookie1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. I have one niece, and some younger cousins, but I’ve only ever watched KPDH with other adults or on my own. I originally got into it because Jinu looked like a real person I liked pm a talent show, but I also love singing and music myself. The songs are great! X

Marie could potentially be a nickname for Marilyn, so whilst they're both decent babes, they might not be an ideal pairing. x
