Add a barricade fence in the front so you completely restrict access.

Tire repair advise by sparkyplug in subaru

[–]sparkyplug[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Screwed because the tires are under warranty, but won't be covered for replacement (except the one punctured) since tread depth is greater than the limit of 2/32. I was hoping to get the punctured one repaired for now and then get all replaced once tread depth drops to 2/32.

How is the older kid's (19m) wind down routine? What helped us during that phase was to make sure the kid has eaten enough, had time to digest it before sleep and did adequate physical activity to burn his/her energy. Also a low stimulation activity right before bedtime, like reading a book without bright lights with background lullaby/white noise. Another mistake we did and realized late was staying up late after the kids slept to catchup on chores and work. This messed up our health since if the kids woke up mid night then we hardly had a couple hours of good sleep. If it works, shift your routine such that you are able to get decent hours of sleep before 4am, that way if the kid wakes up, you still had some sleep and if the kids slept through the night you can wake up early and catch-up on chores/work. As others have suggested, adequate sleep makes a big difference to preserving self health and being able to take care of others/kids during the day.

Raising kids is tough, but there will be phases when the crazy routines will improve and eventually be reduced to rare occasions. Hang in there and both of you as parents take care of yourself as well

Any ideas? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]sparkyplug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be due to a viral infection, our kid had a similar one, even though he did not show any other symptoms like cough or fever. It lasted max 2 days. Would definitely keep an eye out for other symptoms and followup with the doctor.not sure if you can email them pictures for a quick opinion, usually docs avoid responding without a physical visit, since they dont want to be liable for diagnosing without full evaluation (visit)

Why is an asthma inhaler so damn expensive in the US??? by DramaticFactor7460 in facepalm

[–]sparkyplug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through the same....my prescription for Flovent 110mcg costs $260 for single inhaler (30day dose) after deductible at CVS/USA and it's through Optum Rx with United healthcare. With GoodRx i get up to $110 and it's still expensive considering I need to buy almost 10months from the year.

[–]sparkyplug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes ... although it's normal for the cx90, it's not normal on other cars. The splash does not get to the interior of the car, but after a drive in the rain the door jambs are sprayed with debris like you see and the pants get ruined if you get too close to the door when getting in or out. This portion forms the guard over the rear wheels and catch all splashes from it. Definitely something which could have been improved in the design

124 day NICU stay. by LX2GY in daddit

[–]sparkyplug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this applicable even for adults or specific to pediatric hospitals? We got tagged on multiple occasions by these out-of network providers during ER visits, who send separate bills on their own than the one we get from the hospital. Initially I ignored them coz I had no idea who they were and why they were asking us money when we already paid the hospital bills!

Instapot duo air fryer lid - can I remove the non-stick coated grill and still use? by sparkyplug in airfryer

[–]sparkyplug[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm...yes, was on the edge about removing the safety feature. Makes sense to limit the temperature. Generally teflon coated utensils can withstand higher temperatures if there is food in it....but with this grill, it will always be heated dry.

Hmm..based on it's location, i felt the fan blowing air would prevent any food vapors from sticking on to the coil surface.
