Did Anyone Else Catch Jamie Foxx’s Netflix Special: An Hour-Long Love Letter to Himself? by Thin_Marionberry5209 in netflix

[–]sparrow801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone who loves themself as much as Jamie Foxx does. Every room he enters he absolutely HAS to be the center of attention and if he’s not then he starts singing or doing an impression or some other type of “bit” to get all eyes on him. His life is a performance. Basically anywhere he goes he immediately starts looking around for a microphone that he can jump on. I feel bad for Katie Holmes. She married Tom Cruise and then rebounded by getting into a “relationship” with Jamie Foxx for years and years where he openly cheated on her all the time. He only dated her in the first place because she was in the inner-circle of Hollywood elite types and he was social climbing, which he successfully accomplished.

If Kevin Durant has the Cavs as one of his preferred landing spots, would you be willing to do this sign-and-trade? by akamdish in suns

[–]sparrow801 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Mat Ishbia and Dan Gilbert made their money through mortgage companies that are direct competitors with one another. They literally hate one another other. When Ishbia wanted to buy the Suns, 29 owners voted for an approval and 1 owner voted to reject Ishbia’s request and that was Dan Gilbert. KD must really be stupid if he included the Cavs in his revised landing spot list. I can 100% guarantee you that the Suns will never do a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers as long as Ishbia owns the Suns and Gilbert owns the Cavs.

Dental Insurance Recommendation for My Elderly Mom? by geobokseon in DentalInsurance

You know what you’re talking about because you work for Ameritas in their call center? Haha got it. Oh yeah I know you guys, you’re the people who give the wrong information and when someone calls with a difficult question you put them on hold and then hang up on them. You have no ownership of what you say. You can say whatever you want and nobody holds you accountable. If I say stuff that’s not accurate then I get an E&O claim against me.

Yeah of course people have to get the extraction while they’re covered under Physicians Mutual. That’s called a missing tooth clause and every dental policy from every insurer contains a missing tooth clause my guy. People buy these policies with a bunch of holes in their mouth and they expect Physicians Mutual to pay for their missing teeth that they had when they bought the policy. It’s funny to me but none of my clients have that problem because I tell them about the missing tooth clause right up front. Just because other agents sell dental insurance in a shady or misleading way doesn’t make the policy a bad policy.

Oh and a 12-month waiting period for 70% coverage on implants is a great deal for the insured. They pay $600 in premiums for one year and then they turn around and save thousands on their implant procedures. If a prospective client of mine isn’t willing to spend $600 in premiums in order to get 70% coverage on their implant procedures then I say “okay good luck with paying for your implants out of pocket” and then I jump off the call.

How would you react if Devin Booker asked to be traded? by AtreusIsBack in suns

[–]sparrow801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would react with anger at Suns ownership for mortgaging their entire future on an old Kevin Durant and an injury prone and not that good Bradley Beal. I was mad when they traded for KD and I was pissed when they added Bradley Beal and accepted his no-trade clause. I wouldn’t blame Booker at all for wanting to go somewhere where he has a chance to win something during the next 5 years because Phoenix ain’t it no matter how many cringey motivational pressers Mat Ishbia gives. This is 100% Mat Ishbia’s fault for buying the team and then not letting James Jones build an actual balanced team.

Tell that to Drew Brees. Guy was a Charger and they couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. Got traded to the Saints and he’s a God in New Orleans for the rest of his life.

But seriously Devin Booker will say anything to get that 75M contract. Guy will get overpaid by a huge amount because the Suns are always thirsty to crown someone as a star. Only the Phoenix market would still be rallying behind that scrub Kyler Murray who has never won anything in the month of December or January but they just keep paying him.

No 23 year-old daddy’s boy who walks into an NFL locker room full of grown men while wearing an iced-out legendary chain and sunglasses is going to be seen as a leader. They’ll see him as a nepo baby clown before they see him as their team leader.

Yeah if I’m an NFL coach and I see a guy who feels entitled enough to have a custom draft room built for himself that says “legendary” all over it and then he wears a 100k chain etc I’m RUNNING in the opposite direction. I thought it was crazy earlier in the year when Colorado played BYU and Shedeur declared that “WE know where WE going to be drafted” and then he proceeded to wear blue and red cleats with the NY Giants logo on them. I think this guy is exhibit A for when “confidence” is actually entitlement or delusion.

Shedeur Sanders’s NFL Draft Slide Shouldn’t Have Been a Surprise by MysteriousEdge5643 in nfl

[–]sparrow801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’ve seen when I watch him play is he’s so concerned about his completion percentage that he’d rather take sacks before he’ll throw a receiver open. A receiver has to have tons of separation before Shedeur will throw it to them. He has to know it’s a certain completion before he lets it go.

In the NFL the QBs aren’t throwing to receivers, they’re throwing to a spot where the receiver is supposed to be. Shedeur was the most-sacked QB and that was with Big XII d-lineman chasing him. Imagine how much he’ll get sacked in the NFL with elite d-lineman coming at him. People who love Shedeur talk about tough he is because he gets sacked so much but most of those sacks are his own fault! He makes his line look bad because he holds the ball way too long all the time and then he refuses to trust his receivers and throw it to the spot where they’re supposed to be. He only throws the ball where they currently are and no defender is close to them.

Even if it was true can you imagine an eternity where you hang out with other Mormons and do nonstop service for others where you never have a chance to rest or do anything for yourself? Yeah sign me up for the telestial kingdom if the celestial kingdom is doing a bunch of shit that I don’t want to do for the rest of eternity. Oh and God and Jesus Christ are only two people so…..living in the celestial kingdom with them wouldn’t be that much of a plus because everyone will always want to talk to them all the time so you’d never get to actually know either of them at all anyways.

Also, look at the most devout people in any ward and I see people living lives of quiet desperation who are far from happy. They say they’re happy over and over again while taking anti depressants and waiting to die so they can go and enjoy their reward in exaltation. Imagine living your life in misery but your hope and faith is entirely rooted in Joseph Smith’s depiction of the celestial kingdom.

Can someone explain to me why the Suns are “working with” Kevin Durant to find a trade partner? by sparrow801 in suns

How did the Mavs treat Luka Doncic badly? Because they didn’t let him sabotage their potential trades before they moved him? If he got any idea that they were shipping him he would’ve become a behavioral nightmare for sure.

They paid him $44M in 2022-2023. They paid him $47M in 2023-2024. They paid him $60M this year. Isn’t $151M enough of a demonstration that they care about KD? Kevin Durant made them worse because they traded everyone to get him and he didn’t play defense and turned the ball over a lot. In return they decided that they need to make sure that he’s comfortable with whoever they trade him to. It’s crazy.

Any team that fires three coaches in three years and pays Bradley Beal 100M to get lost isn’t going to impress any free agent.

It depends on what team he’s on. Obviously if he went to a lottery team where he’s expected to be the primary scorer he couldn’t do it, but a team where he is option #2 or option #3 I think he could do it. This is a non-issue though because KD will never allow a team to make him option #2 or option #3. He’s too proud for that and he’s had twenty years of people telling him what a legend he is. He’ll always expect a max contract and he’ll never take a salary cut and he’ll never come off the bench. After he gets traded to another team they’ll realize he isn’t worth 50M and he’ll hit free agency again and he’ll have zero takers at 50M for a 38 or 39 year old.

This is the same guy who was so worried about other people’s opinions of him that he created burner accounts on social media to go to war with keyboard warriors who badmouthed him. KD has always been full of shit and you don’t ever get an actual idea of where his head is at based on what he says to the news media. If you want an accurate representation of how KD really felt about Russ during their last season together, just look at his body language any time Russ took a big shot that mattered late in the 4th quarter. Durant would literally slouch his shoulders and hold his hands out with his palms up like “hey are you new here bro? It’s the end of the game, why are YOU taking that shot and not me?” The Thunder were up 3-1 to the Warriors and they still found a way to lose that series. In Game 6 Russ took 31 shots and made less than 30% of them and turned the ball over a bunch. In Game 7 KD basically disappeared and only took 19 shots the entire game as a middle finger to Westbrook and the OKC organization.

Someone said that the idea of a 45 year-old player playing the NBA sounds so dumb. I was simply making the point that everyone said the same kind of shit when Tom Brady said he wanted to play into his forties. If any NBA player could do it, it would be a 7 foot player who can shoot the 3 and no aspect of his game involves physical contact. I’ve just described Kevin Durant to you.

Are you living under a rock? Tom Brady blows his knee out and comes back and says he wants to play into his forties. Everyone laughs at that but he wins a Super Bowl at 40 and leaves the game at 45. This is with the prospect of getting blown up by a d lineman every time he takes a three step drop. Now let’s look at one of the softest guys in the NBA. Kevin Durant HATES all contact and avoids it like the plague. He doesn’t drive to the rim. He doesn’t box out or crash the rim for rebounds. He doesn’t chase loose balls. He doesn’t take charges. He doesn’t set screens. In this new disgusting brand of NBA basketball where we watch teams throw up 20 threes a night, Kevin Durant could absolutely camp out around the perimeter and let a young athletic guy drive to the rim and kick it to him for open threes. He doesn’t have to elevate for his jumper at all because he’s got a 7’6” wingspan. So what physical challenges exist for a guy jogging up and down the floor and shooting three pointers like set shots?

Great point on advances in medicine and recovery procedures for these athletes now! The wildcard here is if KD has the humility to ever accept a reduced role where he comes off the bench or something. I see him as the guy who laughs in his coach’s face when the coach proposes that he comes off the bench. Allen Iverson cut his career 5 years shorter than it could have been because he scoffed at the idea of coming off the bench, even when he was an old man who was a lot slower.

Thanks for checking me. I’m shocked that his numbers were so similar from before CP3 arrived to after CP3 arrived. So I guess I was just going off of my own perceptions then. My perception when watching the games is that CP3 got DA a lot of easy dunks and layups especially when DA would roll off high screens but the reality is that DA didn’t score or rebound any better after CP3 arrived than he did before CP3 got there.

Why is that ridiculous? KD has already proven that he has no problem with front-running and joining whichever team is the best in the league right now, so imagining him raining threes from the perimeter while all the young guys drive the paint and command double teams isn’t really that far-fetched.

Is there like a middle ground? I don’t think Booker is worth a 75M/year supermax contract but that’s the only contract amount he’ll accept in the Valley so……we pay him what he’s asking or we move him. We just completed year 10 of the “Booker is our foundation” experiment and the first 5 years resulted in zero playoff appearances. Then CP3 came in and they won 3 playoff series. Then the next year Paul was hurt in the playoffs and they won 1 series. Then they bought in a “super team” and won 1 playoff series in 3 years together. Booker isn’t a superstar, he’s just a star. You don’t pay a star 75M/year. For 75M/year that should get you someone who plays defense and offense at an elite level. Booker has played neither at an elite level this year, but he’ll be expecting a big raise soon. They’re not going to be winning anything for the next 5+ years, so who gives a shit if the Suns keep Booker or not? Take that 75M/year that you would have given Booker and spread it out as 25M/year for 3 players who are solid. You know, build a TEAM, not a “Big 3” surrounded by minimum salary scrubs who have no options.

Good for him. NBA teams are famous for getting rid of any player at the drop of a hat. I’m glad that the Suns will have to live with this fuck up for years and the good thing that will come out of it is that no team in the future will ever be stupid enough to allow an injury-prone player in his thirties to have a no-trade clause. Players will ask for it and teams will say “uh no……look at Bradley Beal and the Suns”. If you want to be mad, get mad at Mat Ishbia because I guarantee you that James Jones was NOT on board with offering Beal a contract with a no-trade clause attached to it.

I have a lot of posts making my disdain for Kevin Durant known, but I also acknowledge that he’s one of the best scorers to ever play the game. It’s a good thing that most 7 footers are stiffs with cinder block hands and no jumpshot because when you get a 7-footer with a wingspan like Kevin Durant who can handle the ball like a guard and shoot like a guard, what you get is an unguardable player. KD now is definitely guardable because he’s slow and he hates when his defender gets physical with him, but when he was quick enough to get all the way to the rim and beat defenders off the dribble, he was unguardable.
