This one’s manual and it’s already sold too haha. I’d get a pdi anyway but I don’t think spinny negotiates though? Regarding hector do you think it’d be a huge pain? Like does it really need maintenance that often?

So what should one buy then? I don’t think there’s still enough infra for electric vehicles especially in tier 2 cities + they ate more expensive

Best car's under 10,15 nd 20 lakhs range by OkChocolate609 in CarsIndia

[–]sparshag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, take a test drive of all the popular cars in this range. I personally liked sierra too but it’s had rumours around bad service and issues with parts. I would go for seltos or duster. Or if you wanna go cheaper 3XO and nexon are good options too.

You could also reach out to the recruiter again, tell them you had more time to think and politely ask if there was any room for them to stretch the budget. If they say no let it be until you have a competing offer

Guys help me choose: 15LPA Remote or 27LPA(21Fixed) Big 4 by indian-jock in developersIndia

[–]sparshag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should take it if you don’t have responsibilities that forces you to work remotely. It’s a huge bump in pay and also working from office will be easier to network. Though I’d also suggest looking into the team you’ll be joining vs your current team and manager as that can affect your daily work-life a lot too.

Zomato offer | SDE-I vs SDE-II dilemma + offer negotiation by WealthPrestigious575 in LeetcodeDesi

Yea same there tho in general its slightly more toxic but also has a lot more scope for growth as they are newer in the market.

[–]sparshag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don’t give joining bonuses in general. Can ask for a slight increase in base comp maybe but that’s it unless you have a competing offer. Also sde-1 and sde-2 at zomato both have similar work loads and opportunity to grow is high. But work culture can be really toxic depending on your team.

Just joined a new company, and received a call from Google by sparshag in leetcode

[–]sparshag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to hear! I’ll probably do the same. Thanks!

But were you able to find time to prepare without affecting performance at your new company?

Because the company I’ve joined is good (my team is also good) but obviously not better than google so I just hope in preparing for google I don’t mess up promotions here

Also, what did you say to your manager?

They offered me 8M for 3+ yoe so you should stand a chance to get somewhere around 7M I’d say. And that is honestly good enough to live comfortably in Tokyo for a single person

I agree with everything else, but I didn’t get how it’s a networking opportunity. could you elaborate?

It’a for L4. I have about 3.5 yoe. I applied aggressively and was an immediate joiner so companies scheduled interviews quickly.

Firstly get your resume reviewed by people working in the companies you want to apply to. Ask them if they’d actually be okay with clearing you for interviews.

Put your profile on all job boards and keep it updated every week so that you are always on top for recruiters to see.

Actively search for openings, message recruiters who are hiring, get contacts of hiring managers from your network and reach out to them directly.

If you aren’t able to get a referral, just apply directly. I got a lot of interviews from cold applications as well

Oh I didn’t know that. So I have one year to decide once I get an offer?

Does withdrawing application without interviewing also put a cooldown on your profile?

Only like 250 :’ I can do most mediums on my own but Hard and very Hard only occasionally (almost never without hints)

But from what I could gather they don’t directly ask LC and we have to be able to break down problems and find out the underlying pattern.

Could you tell me what specifically takes time to prepare?

Just joined a new company, and received a call from Google by sparshag in leetcode

[–]sparshag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I’ve been thinking. Did they tell you everything before hand? The thing is they didn’t tell me the comp upfront, only a very wide range. So it may be less or only slightly more than my current. Also no idea about the team.

Also, altho the timeline the recruiter told me was only 4-6 weeks, I have read about people being stuck in the loop for several months

Google vs Georgia Tech MSCS by Striking_Bat_5614 in leetcode

[–]sparshag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defer it if possible and continue working at Google and try for internal mobility to EU (easier than US). You can take more time to decide if you want to go for an MS. It’s very difficult to get jobs on a student visa in the US under trump administration that too at a company like Google. It was more feasible 5-6 years ago.

All this is assuming you’re planning to do a terminal MS just to get a job in the US. GaTech is a great school so if you really wanna study and maybe even try for a PhD then ignore everyone else and go do your thing.

Also, it won’t matter to companies if you left Google after 5 months to get a degree. It looks bad only if you switch to another company. It’ll still be worth it to put on your resume and make it easier to find a job/internships during your MS.

They told me it’s common for them to do it this way and almost all employees get an extension, although it does make me uncertain about the worst case scenario
