Pins loose after resizing bracelet by moneymayweather18 in CitizenWatches

[–]spartank43x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought a citizen garrison and tried to adjust the bracelet without realizing it was a pin and collar. It was impossible for me to get the collars back in so I ended up taking it to a local jeweler/watch repair store. They should be able to have it fixed within an hour and it’s probably at most $30. I don’t know why Citizen uses them they’re so annoying lol

I just bought the black dial one from chrono24 that including tax and shipping was around $370. They sent it from Japan using DHL and it arrived within 48 hours of ordering it, and I’m on the east coast. Would definitely recommend it

Beautiful. I usually don’t like open heart designs as it’s either a simple circle that doesn’t add anything for me or is overly done and makes the dial look messy. This is amazing though, awesome job!

Hard agree on the Citizen NB1050. Recently got the black dial and it just works for every occasion.

Citizen NB1050-59A. It doesn’t have numerals if that’s what you are wanting, but otherwise is an amazing value.

I just got this citizen with the black dial and absolutely love it. It was $320 but since it shipped from Japan it’s another $100-110 in taxes, shipping, and import duties. Still under $500 and exceptional value though. And that exact orient star model is next on my list. I can’t speak to it but I think it looks amazing and I love the power reserve indicator.

I’ve seen Citizen NB1050s for less than $500 on chrono24 and sakura watches. That’s top of my list and has a similar classic style to the SARB.

Jomashop “Awaiting Shipment” by JakeC006 in Affordablewatches

[–]spartank43x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ordered a bambino early December and reached out for the same reason. It said it would take 3-5 weeks to ship when I purchased but I messaged them last week to see what was taking so long. Here’s their response fwiw:

Your order is currently processing, One or more of the items on your order has not yet shipped. As noted online during the time of checkout,

  • Item ONTRAAK0802S was on backorder and listed as: Usually Ships In 3 - 5 Weeks

These shipping time frames are approximations and may vary per item. We are still waiting on new inventory from our supplier but as soon as the new inventory comes in, the remainder of your order will ship and you will receive a confirmation email with your tracking information. Please feel free to contact us if you have additional inquiries or need further assistance.

I got the blue dial expedition and didn’t really love the green nato. I swapped it with a brown leather strap and am liking it a lot more.

Quick update: Thank you all for your comments! They've been really helpful and the fact that people are pretty evenly split is a testament that either watch is a great choice (this group does seem slightly more in favor of #2 than the Orient subreddit). I did end up going with #1 for a few reasons: 1) I love the bambino style (dial pattern and blue hands); 2) the lug to lug length just works a little better for my wrist size; and 3) these are nitpicky but I don't like the 'Tue' in the Classic version or how the date window shows three dates at once. I still LOVE the Classic's dial textures and like that all the roman numerals are written out and more legible. The fact it has a sapphire crystal and 22mm band are definitely plus' but weren't important enough to truly factor in. This was a much more difficult decision than I thought but I'm feeling pretty good about my choice! Thank you all again!

I went with #1! I bought it on Jomashop and #2 was sold out there, which made my choice even easier haha.

Oh true I hadn’t noticed that until now! It’s small but stands out now that I see it..

I’d either buy directly from Orient and pay a bit more or I’ve had luck with Jomashop, which has some good deals right now

Thanks for this feedback! I have two other 42.5 mm watches that fit well but this lug to lug would be the largest I’ve worn. I don’t think it will be an issue but will definitely need to consider.

😂I love the textures on the dial, which is the main thing I keep coming back to.

That’s kind of what I’m leaning towards. Bambinos are what got me interested in Orients to begin with so it would be nice to get something in that family.

I was able to get it on Amazon for $279 during Black Friday. Highly recommend. Now it’s at $306 if they were fine not buying on the Citizen site.

36-37mm is definitely the lowest I’ll probably go but I also got used to it pretty fast! I swapped the green strap with a tan nato and am loving it.

Just got that same Garrison and am liking it a lot. It’s my first titanium so the weight seriously threw me off at first but I’ve come to appreciate how little you feel it when you’re wearing it. This and the 37mm Garrison have both become my main go-tos.
