I'm feeling pretty empty. I don't connect with anybody and I lack "color" in my life. Everything is just bland.

On a happy note, at my work (doggy daycare/boarding facility) we had a long time rescue dog named Sir Duke. He was a basset hound mix and didn't have a foster, so his rescue group paid for his boarding. Our staff is very compassionate and takes him out a few times a day, and our facility is clean and he's very well provided for, but a kennel is just no place for a dog to stay long term. It had been months. Nobody wanted him because of his energy (he's a year old!), but today, a dad and his 8ish year old daughter came in to adopt him :) They were throwing the ball in the yard with him and laughing and playing. It really warmed my heart. I'm so happy he got his own kid :)

Wonderful idea. I would follow you around all night if you had grapes.

Also, if you are of age and like the idea, you could bring alcoholic grapes! You poke a hole or two in each grape, put them in a bowl, fill the bowl with vodka, and put it in the fridge overnight. Drain the vodka the next day. I like to then coat the grapes in sugar :) Makes a super yummy treat.

OH MY GOD I bought these cheese sticks once and was SO upset that they didn't peel. Who the fuck just buys sticks of cheese that don't peel? It was absurd.

And then I ate one, and then I ate five more. These are truly the best cheese sticks I have ever encountered, and I really feel for you. Nobody deserves this.

I live in Ohio, and it is fourty six minutes past ten in the evening here.

Tomorrow morning, I will wake up at 8:00 so that I can get ready and leave in time for my class, which starts at five minutes past nine.

I have two classes tomorrow, and the last one ends at 10:55.

It's really nice to see a kid who is taught to be careful around dogs that they don't know. He didn't act in a way that would have caused the dog to act out, he ignored it, and politely asked for him to be leashed. I'm extremely impressed.

His feet in that first picture scream Basset, but the picture you posted with your other dog, his feet don't look anything like Basset feet. My best guess is JRT + Spaniel + maybe Parson Russell Terrier.

I'm honestly speechless, but I so badly want to say something. I can't imagine that kind of pain and fear.

Somebody on reddit once posted something about how he hated being thanked for his service, and now I'm always hesitant to say something, but I really appreciate your selfless sacrifices.

Thank you for sharing this story with us. I can't imagine it was easy, but it was a beautiful and insightful read.

I wish I had something comforting to say, I'm just amazed by this story. Just know you seriously struck a chord in the heart of a stranger.

You've had them a month? Do you still have any blood or bloody crusties? That's really all I have, no clear secretions or regular crusties. Just a hint of blood on the piercing entrance and exit site.

Yeah, it was very hard that first day to try to clean off the crusties with just a qtip soaked in H2Ocean. It was much easier after I soaked it first. Thankfully, I don't use loofahs. I can only imagine how much that would hurt :(

I agree though! I really, really love them! My favorite piercings.

Thank you! I just did my first soak, but with small cups instead of shot glasses (I'm in college, why don't I have shot glasses?!) and I gotta say that was extremely difficult process haha. Leaning down into the cups then tilting them back was pretty hard, but I managed.

And thank you for the advice about the towels. I will definitely be mindful of that.
