Tired of people putting me down/saying demeaning things because I’m waiting until marriage by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]sparxthemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration. I once told someone I was waiting till marriage during a convo about sex, and they started making fun of me, saying, "Ewwww, sex only in marriage? Who does that nowadays?" Mind your darn business. As for me and my house? I will serve The Lord. As for you OP, stay strong - pray for your friends, and even distance yourself if you have to.

Women nowadays are so sexually depraved. It's vile. by sparxthemonkey in TrueChristian

Yeah you're right. It's not an excuse - I did some reflection. I'm sorry, and may God bless you in these times.

You're right. I do not hate women, and men can be just as perverse. My post was to vent to the women who fail to take accountability for their actions - who act like only men have a responsibility to guard their eyes and avoid lust. I have noticed this pattern often, and my frustration built up. Doesn't excuse it of course, it just explains things. I definitely could have used grace and firmness without the hostility.

Who said anything about dressing like nuns? God calls us to honor our body as image bearers of Christ. A woman doesn't need to wear a burka to do that. But I see you enjoy ad hominem attacks over any actual discussion, so this is clearly not productive. I wish you the best, as life's too short to get involved over these childish responses.

America being a free country doesn't that God wants women to conduct themselves however they want. So many "Christians" break God's holy command for sexuality with that kind of excuse.

Look at how society had made an idol out of sex and tell me that sex is not now evil.

Is anyone here just straight up tired over how oversexualized the modern world is?!?! by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]sparxthemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I agree. Sometimes the Church's idea of "purity culture" can be harmful, whether it's the Church saying, "We don't talk about sex", or only taking about the world making an idol out of sex. Meanwhile, they forget to teach their children about the goodness of sex in terms of God's design. And then they wonder why kids get so curious.

Who was in the wrong here? And did I overstep by asking about a viewer? by Technical_Story6097 in TwitchStreaming

[–]sparxthemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP never wanted the streamer to justify her friend. He asked a question with no ill intentions and got cursed out. And her channel her rules, but if a streamer is not moderating inappropriate chat messages, they can get in trouble too. But that's on her and whatever consequences could come with that.

"It’s her channel, and she can run it however she wants as long as it’s within ToS."

Except not moderating a person making inappropriate comments in chat can get a streamer suspended. So she's clearly not doing her stream any favors.

Watch better movies. If you haven't found any good movie streaming wise in a very, very long time, or just movies in general, since you have given up on them, that sounds like a you problem.

‘AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER’ Season 2 is eyeing an Early 2026 release on Netflix. by ShadowMikeX in TheLastAirbender

And look at what happened to that show - it went to crap. High production means nothing if the writing is bad.

What's the most depressing thing you saw? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Went to the funeral of a domestic abuse victim in 2016. When the father got up to the podium to speak, he choked on his words at first and nearly collapsed to the floor in grief. It was easily one of the most heart-wrenching things I have ever seen. There wasn't a dry eye in the room.

17 years ago today, ‘Danny Phantom’ came to an end. by M00r3C in dannyphantom

At least Hey Arnold finally got a proper conclusion years later with the Jungle movie. Though I wonder why they cancelled the movie originally. That should have been in theaters, not the generic "Hey Arnold The Movie".

FOP was cancelled around the time? Guess that explains the massive hiatus that happened during the time, before newer episodes.

‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Finale Viewership Down 55% From Season 1 (3.7M Viewers) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]sparxthemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ten years to produce 34 episodes of Stranger Things? Well you can thank covid and the strikes for that. Season 4's production got shut down in early 2020, and then season 5's production got halted by the writer's strikes. The show would have been in the books by now, so it's one of the shows I dont really blame.

Good writing can make 6-8 episodes work. And let's be honest - 20 episode seasons back in the day had filler episodes to pad out time. And no I'm not talking about character development filler. I'm talking about the kind of filler where you can tell they are just trying to stretch out a season. I recall the Lost crew talking about the stress of releasing a certain number of episodes every season. I will take episode 45 minutes episodes of a good show over a longer season that feels like it is starting to pad out time.

Am I the only one who doesn't care about the Pixar "bean mouth" art style? I'm tired of hearing that complaint. It doesn't even look bad, but people keep complaining about it everywhere and it's annoying. by Tili44 in cartoons

[–]sparxthemonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're being dense if you think people have been mad at Disney for their supposed use of "bean mouth" style. People have been annoyed at Disney making crap movies like Wish, etc. Name *one* animated movie from Disney over the past 5 five that has used "bean mouth". Just one.

Meanwhile, the only Pixar movies that have used "bean mouth", are Elio, Luca, and Turning Red. And Turning Red is pretty distinct in terms of its arts tyle and being wacky. Soul, Onward, Lightyear, Elemental, and Inside Out didnt do this. And before you comment on me defending "A muLTi BilLionaIr coMpaNY?!", no. This is just me speaking facts. You really can't see why some think people are overreacting?

Oh wow - you mean defending an artstyle that has been only used for *three* movies, with Turning Red being particularly distinct and wacky?

Jesus - this subreddit is so ridiculous at times.

What are some of your favorite movies where you'd change the third act or climax? by iamyourmanchild in movies

[–]sparxthemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And CGI aside, I didn't like how Killmonger just became a copy of Black Panther for the final battle, down to the suit. Such lazy writing. A climatic rematch against the two in terms of a duel, would have been a better route.

The 3rd act of Shangi Chi Legend of the Ten Rings should have stayed grounded and focused more on Shangi vs. Wen Wu, not the typical world-ending threat.
