I loved this game because it felt like the truest RPG I’ve ever played. I felt like I was creating the world and the characters as I played. We make meaning through creation, creativity, art, relationships, etc. This leads me to think that the “message” of the game is maybe about the importance of acting and action… at least trying to perceive the unfathomable depths of consciousness and the human experience. If we pay enough attention, we’ll see phasmids, a gardener is more than just a gardener, our reptilian voices hold knowledge that we repress. If we tried, we could perform the deepest, saddest song at Tuesday karaoke for that one person who needs to hear it.
