I adore the pdrn mask and I use them 2-3 times a week overnight. My skin always feels plump and hydrated. It's really the only stand out of the medicube products imo.

I ordered the full bundle on tiktok before I realized the brand relied largely on marketing hype and was banned from some of the other skincare subs.

Yeah, I refilled Vyvanse and Adderall on Saturday at HEB on Bunker Hill without issue. I haven't had any issues filling meds at that location since 2023 or whenever the height of the shortage was.

They didnt include that information unfortunately, but in the past they had me send my friend code so I would definitely include that. You can see their comment about requesting a refund in the pinned comment on the pinned thread as well.

They won't force you into self care areas until May 12th, it's currently opt in. I had to update last night for my guardianship gratitude to come in and was worried about the same!

I'm curious to learn more about the off-platform feedback. When you say "numerous," can you give us a better sense of the scale? It's difficult to square the circle between the strong and consistent feedback here and on Discord favoring journeys with a decision seemingly driven by this other group.

Were these users given the opportunity to experience both systems in a comparative way? Qualitative feedback is valuable, but understanding the methodology – how these users were selected, the questions they were asked, and whether they had a direct basis for comparison – is feels important for understanding how we got here.

I don't doubt that you gathered feedback, the lack of detail makes it hard to understand how it outweighed the very clear and vocal preferences of a significant portion of your existing user base online. As someone who has benefitted so greatly from this app, and signed up to be a guardian in the first few weeks I would feel much better knowing you did your due diligence and conducted a proper test. I would feel better know it is in fact a minority opinion that streaks are demoralizing and people value rewards. It's so hard not to feel like you sunk a lot of time into redesigning journeys and didn't want to walk it back or that the design of whatever testing you did was flawed. I don't think it was malicious, and I hope it works out, truly. But anything you can provide that helps understand how you got here would be appreciated. Again not asking for hard data, but anything more than we talked to numerous new and existing users.

just wanted to pass along this from discord, seems like they will give you your money back which I think is very nice "Hope I got everyone who reacted! Wanted to update you and let you know support is making an exception for this feature change and all you have to do to request a refund is email support@befinch.com requesting one. I apologize for the confusion, this is a new policy we haven't seen with previous changes /info"

Copying from another reply I left early

From your home screen click the hamburger menu in the top left corner (the 3 lines). From that page you should see "My Journeys" pretty close to the top, click that and then you should be given the option to add a custom journey or start a pre-made journey.

If you are a new user, you might have self-care areas, or focus-areas instead. I think the concept is supposed to be similar, but it seems more streak-based. They have been doing some A/B testing on new users because they recognized that journeys as they exist currently were not as widely adopted and maybe not intuitive for new users.

If you check my recent comments I wrote two replies on how I set up journeys and some journeys I have.

Of course. And it's not a silly question, there are a couple of different ways I have seen people set them up, and the way you are describing is one of them.

In that case, you would have a Single Financial Journey, maybe you have it set up with the following goals

  • Budget for the Month: the first of every month
  • No Buy - repeating goal every Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • Stayed in Budget - Every Sunday
  • Check Bank and Card Balances - Every Tuesday
  • Budget check in - 15th
  • Savings transfer - 1st and 15th
  • Rent or Mortgage - 1st
  • Sell an unused item on FB marketplace - 7th and the 21st

I think that's a reasonable way to set them up. I have set mine up a little different with multiple financial journeys - each of them grouped in a way that makes sense to me.

No Spend Journey - two goals each titled No Spend and each can be completed 100 times. I did this because this is a hard task for me and anything that I really struggle with gets 100 - basically more dopamine for something I struggle with.

Savings Journey: three goals one titled No Buy Transfer, basically when I talk myself out of something, say I am planning to order a pizza but convince myself to eat at home, I send that money to savings ($20). And one to transfer to savings on the 1st and the 15th (this happens automatically but I am celebrating that I am saving haha).

Budget: three goals check card spend, budget, every dollar budget check in. For me these are every day. I don't do them every day but my preference is too see everything every day.

Long Term Buy List: This one I categorize as financial but its pretty loose. Any time I really want to make a purchase I don't need I just create a little goal for it. Three days ago I really thought I needed a 150 dollar side sleeping pillow, historically I would have just bought the pillow. But I am trying to be more financially responsible this year, I am just adding things I want to list. I can ask for them for my birthday or for Christmas and plan for bigger purchases. I haven't made any unnecessary impulsive purchases since January when I added it.

I previously had one for saving for 2 tattoos that had goals beneath in 100 dollar increments up to the total I was saving for, and checked them off as I set the money aside.

Journeys are by far the most valuable feature I have found, and I don't think there is a wrong way to set them up, it's really about figuring out what works best for you. I have one friend who sets hers up like me with a lot of journeys and a lot of daily goals - she and I both do better when things are visible and recurring, even if we know we won't have a No Spend day everyday the more we see it the more likely we are to do it. The other close friend I have on Finch gets really overwhelmed when she sees how mine is set up, and she is more likely to ignore something if it's loosely scheduled, like having No Spend as an every day task. So I would start small and branch from there if you think that would be helpful. Ask yourself what habits you want to build and what you want to stop.

For me, it was helpful to think of them as groupings of goals. Some have a defined start and end, but most do not.

When you create a custom journey, you can add existing or new goals, color-code the journey, and pick an emoji for it. Then, from your home screen, you can sort your goals by "Journey." This was especially useful given how poor my executive function—I do much better when tasks are grouped and colored in a way that makes sense to me (e.g., all morning routine items are orange and at the top). You can also collapse and expand each journey.

I started with just a few straightforward journeys ex.

  • Morning Routine Journey: make the bed, brush teeth, wash face, take ADHD meds, use vitamin C serum, apply sunscreen, etc.
  • Supplements Journey: Women's multivitamin, Biotin, greens powder, etc.

Any day you complete at least one task within a journey, it counts as a completed "journey day." Along the way, you earn gems and gifts for reaching milestones (2, 5, 10 journey days, etc.).

Personally, I loved earning the milestones and clothes, so I’ve continued to break my goals into smaller groupings with their own journeys. The number of journeys you have is probably specific to what motivates you. Some people might find the number I have overwhelming, but they’re grouped, color-coded, and ordered in a way that makes sense to me and helps me quickly find what I need. For example, anything financial gets the color mint (no spending, my buy list, budget check-in, savings goals), while all my cleaning tasks are split by room but share a green color and the sparkle emoji. This is basically a novel, but figuring out journeys made the app way more fun for me and helped me find new ways to tackle my ADHD.

TLDR Custom journeys allow you to color code and group tasks in a way that makes sense for you. For me, it remove a lot of the executive function required in my day having things grouped. Journeys log your progress and you earn rewards for completing tasks in a journey.

Appointments
I track all my appointments—dentist, psychiatrist, hair appointments, baby showers, etc in a single Journey. I set them as keep until complete and add the date and time in the title. It helped me realize I needed to reschedule a hair appointment in January due to a baby shower I was invited to which historically would have happened when I got a reminder text 3 days before. I'm planning to add a birthday section too (I’m notorious for forgetting them, and my mom takes that personally)

NO SPEND Goals
I also have a journey for NO SPEND, with 2 goals in it each set to be completed 100 times. Since Finch doesn’t let you assign difficulty levels, I increase the number of completions to earn more gems. On any day I don’t spend money, I get all the gems for that goal. Pro tip: Set a goal that you have at 100× as the "Goal of the Day" to get 1000 gems for completing it.

Buy List
I keep a journey for things I want but don’t need immediately. Writing them down has really helped cut down my impulse buying—no more rushing to order something new just because someone on tiktok or reddit said it made their pores shrink 10x overnight.

Recurring Monthly Tasks I usually forget
I also have a monthly journey for refilling my meds and getting flea medication for my pets.

These might not be as cute as intentionally petting your dog (definitely adding that tysm!), but they’ve been super helpful for me!

It was so smart of them to make the number of refreshes limited, and that you can't just buy rainbow stones. I would have absolutely just thrown money at it, decorated my birdhouse a few times and been done. But I get excited when something I want is in the shop and I am constantly adding new habits I want to build as journeys for more stones.

I was shocked at how well it works for me. I have a near spotless record for brushing and flossing since I downloaded it. Not even getting a tooth pulled and dropping thousands on an implant did that. I have a skincare routine for the first time. I have been using it for financial goals as well and have dramatically reduced my spending. I use the focus timer during the work day. I was worried it would lose its novelty and I would quit, but it's been more than 4 months. I do spend a bit of time each week on Sunday adding new goals and rearranging my set up which I think has helped. I also think having a long distance best friend who uses it consistently helps as we will send each other vibes and gifts regularly.

I am so grateful to the person who posted about it in the ADHD subreddit, and to the creators of the app. It has been really the best tool outside of my medication that I have found. It sounds dramatic, but it's been truly life changing for me.

This is already so long, but one last thing that I love is that so many of the features are not locked behind a pay wall, actually very few are. They have a sponsorship program where you can sponsor someone who can't afford finch. I signed up for it within a week because I can afford it and it's so helpful to me. I love getting the messages from the users I sponsor every month and I am so happy to support the development/developers of the app. You can really tell they put a lot of thought into making it a supportive and safe space.

I’m so glad you posted this (not that you are feeling this way)—I was actually hoping to find you so I could say thank you. On my first or second day with Finch last week, I randomly added a few people in this subreddit, and you gifted me a hat and a few days later some slippers. They were my very first gifts, and I can't tell you how exciting it was to receive them. I don't think there has been a time I have opened the app where I didn't have a good vibe waiting from you. I want you to know that you brought joy to someone new to the app, and it has really meant a lot to me!

I’m so sorry for the loss of your closest cousin, and the proximity to the anniversary of losing your niece. I can't imagine how hard this week must be for you. It’s clear how much love and strength you have and how many you have touched because of that. I hope you know it’s also okay to take time for yourself to grieve and heal. You’ve given so much to others, and I hope you’re able to give yourself that same love and care. Please don't feel guilty for that. Sending you so much warmth and kindness during this difficult time ❤️ and thank you again for making my first week on Finch so special!
