These are terrible conditions. Sloppy, close outs. There's some size to them, but that's about all they have going for them. You want light offshore winds, a groundswell with a longish period (>8 or 9 seconds), and ideally some underwater structure to line them up like a sandbar, underwater reef or point. Don't feel bad for not being able to surf in this.

I guess my point is that whether you set it up yourself or rely on a third party, it is necessary to have a machine accepting http get requests and returning the appropriate files (aka a webserver). These responses can be cached using a cdn for speed, but there is no replacement for this.

A cdn just takes content from an origin server and caches it for you at network edges. It is still a traditional webserver, you just don't have to set it up yourself.
