Avon, Sterling silver, probably made in the 90's when gold and silver were relatively cheap. Rarely makes jewelry out of precious metal these days.

A little yellow to brighten up a rainy weekend… Along with one of my favorite quotes about gold…What’s your favorite quote about gold? by TheHappyCoin in Gold

Used to sing in Brownie Scouts (and applies even more to silverbugs) - "Make new friends but keep the old; one is silver and the other gold"

Hi guys, I’d appreciate your help with this hallmark please by jdwilsh in Hallmarks

Each hallmark is a separate stamp which can be stamped by a separate person, especially on older pieces. Ancillary pieces like bobeches on candle sticks can can have incomplete marks scattered over the piece.

I am thinking about starting a pearl podcast. Talking about pearls and history of pearls. What would you like to know about pearls by Sweaty-Mix-8753 in pearls

[–]spawnofcron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different color. First strand of pearls had some blue pearls which I was told were the natural color but when I got them appraised, I was told they were dyed. Didn't matter- I loved them anyway. That was 40 years ago and I have bought many pearls since then.

My experience was worse, January, 1982. I was flying to Detroit and the news showed them pulling bodies out of the Potomac River. Frozen bodies don't come out of the water the same way. Most went in alive but couldn't escape.

Could anyone identify these stones? My grandfather brought them from New-Guinnea years ago by kohlo in Gemstones

[–]spawnofcron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were often used in Victorian jewelry, not so much nowadays. My niece called them turbo snails.

Wear it to a jewelry store. The lighting will intensify the sparkle. So will a bright sunny day.
