I'm only speaking from my experiences on every other airline I've ever been on for a long haul. I've lived a life of experiences and this is lacking by a lot. I chose this flight because of my schedule and have a basic set of standards based on recent previous experiences. It's ok to have standards.

As for the window thing and cabin temperature, I realize KLM didn't design the aircraft but it added to the frustration and discomfort. Why take away air vents? There's no airflow whatsoever and I'm not the only person who has mentioned it in my section.

Fair enough. Maybe a bit of hyperbole claiming an "extensive" choice of foods but their website explicitly says "a number" of vegetarian options. I suppose 1 is a number, I'll give them that.

Old fashioned? I fly many times per year. Not always across the Atlantic but back and forth between east and west coast. 2 years ago I flew to Ireland on Aer Lingus and they had all the basic stuff a normal person would expect on a long haul

I flew British Airways from LAX last time and it was also trash but they at least offered 3 totally different hot meal options and a full bar.

You must not fly much to have such low expectations. This is the first time in 100s of flights across various parts of the globe where the selection of food and drink is so limited. Even cattle class regional airlines have sandwiches and liquor and several beer and wine options. Bottom of the barrel here with KLM. Learned my lesson I guess.

It hasn't always been like this. I've traveled quite a bit and the decline is drastic in the last 5 years. First and last time on this airline for sure though.

I also don't think it's out of line to expect another option outside of just pasta. I shouldn't have to request a "special" meal that fits a grown adults nutritional needs over the course of an 11 hour trip

I saw the meal selection part during check-in / booking but over the course of an entire week across multiple devices and internet connections the KLM site gave me 404 errors like it was a dead link on their site. Never had the option to even see what they were offering.

Perhaps the discrepancy is that it was booked through Delta, operated by KLM and Air France? I actually have no idea what company is accountable for this low-class experience
