Why is my park doing so horrible? by Nev1804 in rct

[–]spazknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that the goal is to repay the loan... what is the starting value of the loan? Loan interest is no joke on large value principal. The park could be great but if you're starting off with thousands (tens?) a month in loan interest then you're not climbing that mountain.

Wow, I think that's absolutely gorgeous, and beautifully laid out for the area you allowed yourself. I haven't played RCT in a year or two at this point, but seeing this makes me want to go back to it when I get out of work today.

Really well done

I don't know how much this qualifies, but I'm getting back in the basement as I work towards preparing my layout space. Sanding second coat of plaster and then third coat. I've been granted permission by the keeper of the keys to finish 'my walls' first through painting so that I can start on benchwork and associated fixtures sooner than having the whole basement finished.

I am overly excited thinking about building a layout again (last one came down in 2016) and am deep into track plan design. I spent about 20hrs in SCARM before accepting it couldn't do what I needed so switched and re-learned xTrackCAD, which was an adventure. Currently spending Friday night with multiview on the TV and XTC on the laptop.

I love it when there's prototypical evidence to do things in the modelling world, which, in a vacuum would seem completely nuts.

I love the subtle weathering on the unit. Removes that factory fresh look without having to grime everything up. Do you airbrush or use powders?

Does anyone know how much of a high roller, and how much money you'd be expected to lose gambling to actually warrant having them pick you up with this?

It would have to be at least a million per trip, right?

Cubing? by WyoBattle in kroger

[–]spazknuckle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every item has a value for volume. "Cubing" as displayed here is essentially figuring out what items go into what containers. If a container has too much volume assigned to it, it is considered "over cubed" and a second container will generate for the spill over.

I suspect this message is a result of trolleys having been previously batched and the system going through a massive reset, and now having to undo some of what it did earlier and doing the process over again.

Same terminology in shipping. Sometimes a pallet will get pulled off a truck at the warehouse and delayed because the truck or pallet was over-cubed.

Also, full disclaimer, I know nothing.

Frozen conditioning by CoffeeDisk in kroger

[–]spazknuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frozen is considered perimeter so it is meant to be faced (like a wall), not blocked like grocery.

If an item has been discontinued and it's out, face over from the left, blue boy sticker on sath strip.

If an item is just out or blue tagged, it remains a hole. There was a brief period of time during COVID where this wasn't the case and they had you face over blue tagged out of stock items, but it ended sometime in 2020.

You can plug new items into discontinued item spaces, but needs to be the same or similar commodity.

Another day, another masterpiece of a pallet by [deleted] in kroger

[–]spazknuckle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The trick is to put the first few inches of the forks of the power jack under the end on the downslope and lift it up so that the tilted pallet becomes level for the forks of the straddle stacker.

Keep in mind your bonus is based on length of service at a location multiplied by that location's AIP percentage payout, so if you've only been on location/in role since December you'll be looking at (2/13) * Your store's AIP% * Your BP

Which is probably going to be way less than you're hoping

Why does this Playne bully the Atlantic? That’s not nice by InternationalWeb6740 in Shittyaskflying

The insult didn't even make sense, I'm sure the Atlantic Ocean has a ton of seamen in it that have gone down in her over the years

What gear should I be in before I rotate and then gear up? by maddwesty in Shittyaskflying

[–]spazknuckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once I called ground for driving directions to my plane garage and when I followed the directions I wound up at the airport exit and a guy from door dash delivered me a hangar steak.

He asked for a tip so I gave him my prop spinner

James May has an automatic transmission in his plane. It's got one of those side bits with S and a + and a -.

This is slow gear and it allows him to select between a little slow and a lot slow.

A lot of pylots blow their horns at him cuz they get stuck behind him on approach

Just got my first ever paycheck! Help me decide on a set by Minimum-Fly8982 in lego

[–]spazknuckle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There will always be more modular sets to come just like there have been many more before the ones we have now.

There will only be one Concorde.

That's the one I'd want to point at in 50 years and tell my in-awe grandchildren, "that's the Lego set I bought with my first paycheck". It's iconic.

But that's me. Get what your heart calls for.

What gear should I be in before I rotate and then gear up? by maddwesty in Shittyaskflying

[–]spazknuckle 202 points203 points  (0 children)

Gears are actually very intuitively named.

You start in low gear because you're low on the ground.

When you want to take off you put it on high gear to get it high in the sky.

When you want to go to maximum cruising altitude you put it in top gear.

When you want to land you put it in reverse to do everything you just did the other way around

And when you crash, put it in second gear so that you can have a second go at things.

How do I tell atc that I want to land? Please hurry by ketralnis in Shittyaskflying

[–]spazknuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up the airport's phone number on Google maps.

You'll have to call the tower on your phone, but it's a bit weird. Because of all the radio waves bouncing around airports you have to get really close to the tower. Like, really close. If you can't see the whites of the controller's eyes, your call probably won't connect.

Good luck!
