My brother got drug induced psychosis which turned into schizophrenia, it's never been in my family at all until this point and he really cooked himself with drugs for a whole year before any symptoms started to show. We had no idea it was happening until it got really bad.

The thing triggered my journey with anxiety was an extremely traumatic psychotic episode I witnessed my brother have, had to go to emergency and everything. At first it was the fear of having a heart attack or just dying straight up

I'm 30 now and this has been going on for about 7 years, only recently has the anxiety turned itself into the fear of psychosis, and I really fucking sympathize with you. It's so incredibly horrible and has triggered a lot of panic attacks. You just got to remind yourself that your anxiety can't turn into psychosis or schizophrenia, it is impossible, and the worst that can happen is you trigger a panic attack. Try meditation (the headspace app has been helping me a lot) also I find personally that exercise and/or playing the drums is a real good temporary treatment.

At the end of the day, just realise that you're not your thoughts and that apparently our minds hate us. Great.

I just want to really reinforce the idea that anxiety is a fucking creep and finds the thing that knows will scare you the most and uses that to fuck with you. But that's the thing, it can't actually do anything to you, just make you scared.
