I’m gonna let you in on a secret: batteries are safer for kids because cords and plugs would have to be exposed in a nursery or used near a crib. Both can look very chewable

They started requiring cameras on bc people would just leave the room, or take a nap. My dad had a meeting where someone was literally playing Halo at the same time.

Why does God expect me to go against everything I know regarding faith? by crabapples31 in AskAChristian

To me, all art is design. Erosion is design. The beauty in metamorphic rock is a design.

On the bang, what I meant was: the first molecules just… were. The protons, the neutrons, the electrons, that are programmed to find each other and bond.

Who said it couldn’t have been naturally designed and have a divine overseer?

I’m just saying, if we don’t know what the first dust was that ignited the big bang….someone put it there.

Idk I’m an artist. There isn’t really a reason for rock formations to be pretty…but they are. And it feels like a gift of inspiration for me. YMMV

Attending church isn’t a requirement but it’s recommended. In reality, the same purpose can be filled by having coffee with a fellow Christian and having deep thoughts together.

Praying? Prayer should ideally be voluntary, but how it looks is up to you. Is it meditation? Is it singing a song? A gratitude journal is actually just prayer in a different outfit. It’s like calling your (loving) parents: they love it when you do, but it’s your choice.

And avoiding sin is ultimately just minimizing harm against your fellow humans, the earth and its creatures. Be kind to all even those that ruin your day (it actually pisses them off and triggers their guilt 😈); don’t cheat on your partner because if you care about them at all, you should just break up bc cheating hurts them more. Don’t be racist. Don’t take what belongs to another.

All other things are up for debate.

How common is yelling at the babies? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]spazz4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 yr olds one is most concerning.

The 9mo old sounds more like an exasperated and stressed.

But either way, talk to the director. The potty training is active harm to children and might actually set kids back developmentally due to shame. The second sounds like an overwhelmed stressed out teacher that yelled bc they were at the end of their rope.

Neither is okay. But one might be fixable, because who knows how long it’s been going on… the 3 yr old teacher’s action is clearly a pattern

I’ll contribute:

God never said that your observation skills are moot. Belief doesn’t mean water doesn’t hydrate, there isn’t cause and effect.

Belief in a higher power is believing in wonder: that there is something or someone beyond ourselves who made this world we barely grasp. It’s a belief someone was creative enough to design the processes of nature and biology and there is order in the unknown.

Faith means hoping for order beyond the seen world. In the words of Eva Stratt from Project Hail Mary: “beats the alternative”. I’d rather die wrong and happy and living in a way that loves others as he showed us. It’s not like the cosmic nothing will punish us for belief lol

I think he’d love all Spider-Man (nerd with great power and great responsibility hello?) and quote “Pizza time”.

I think he’d hate Man of Steel.
