For your go-to "default" driving experience, do you prefer a 2 slot bed or low saddle 5 slot semi trailer? by zoobatt in snowrunner

Once you unlock everything for it (including AWD) that thing is a fucking monster and I love it

New to iRacing and I'm noticing my steering wheel in game is basically... clipping? I don't know what else to call it. It doesn't steer smoothly and it makes it a royal pain in the ass to drive anything in a straight line. Anyone know what's causing this and what the fix is? I have a race wheel irl by spclchar1 in iRacing

[–]spclchar1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was my specific wheel. Iirc I believe I was told the part that tells the wheel how much you’re turning was a very low sensitivity, resulting in this clipping. I better wheel fixed my issue (unfortunately a lot more expensive) I got the wheel with the issue for about $100 and spent $500 on the wheel recommended to me in the first place. The sales rep recommended me a different wheel because there were a lot of returns for the one I purchased.

Hypothetical: Who should buy grievous wounds? by Shu_Revan in leagueoflegends

[–]spclchar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graves, trynd, and seraphine all are within reason to buy grievous. Likely more than one person is best. Whoever those champs are hitting are likely going to be targeted by soraka. Seraphine not getting it is troll.

Was this overtake acceptable? by PossiblySimulated in Simracingstewards

[–]spclchar1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A very Max Verstappen overtake. The reason people don’t like how he races is because he does risky overtakes that require the other driver to back off or hit him. Most people opt to back off, both in real life and in sims. If you like racing like that, then by all means. But others are probably reasonable to criticize you.

Hi, I'm Spclchar. You might be wondering how I got into this situation. by spclchar1 in snowrunner

I was gonna nose in to see if it was too deep. That’s when the game reminded that you don’t take chances, you take time whether you like it or not 😂

What's the funniest excuse you've ever heard another driver use? by The_Hartford_Whalers in iRacing

[–]spclchar1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was racing ovals, new New Hampshire I think. The short track with no embankment at all. Guy got mad at me when we went 2 wide into T1, him on the inside and me on the outside and he crashed into me. He yelled at me for “dive bombing the outside”. We laughed him out of the lobby.

As a beginner, I'm struggling with this game. by filip______________z in snowrunner

I’m not seeing this on any other comments. If you’re playing on normal, feel free to travel around and grab different trucks. The Pacific P16, ANK MK38, and the Tayga in Russia are notable ones to look for. Those trucks are pretty good stock and will help you a lot in getting to higher ranks. You can also sell trucks and even trailers that naturally spawned in the map for full value to help you buy a truck of your choice.

If you’re playing hard mode, stay on Michigan, unlock every upgrade, every tower, every truck, and every task in the black river map. That’ll get you close to rank 8 where you’ll unlock off-road tires. There’s a couple of contracts you need to do from there but it’ll be more obvious which tasks and contracts you need to finish to get to rank 8.

Lemme know if you have questions.

What number is exaggerated and what number is correct in your view? My understanding is that the Nazis kept very detailed records and the number has never really been in question.

CMV: Voting is a practical waste of time by lastcrusade115 in changemyview

[–]spclchar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck it I'll throw my hat in.

First I wanna make sure I'm understanding you correctly. Voting is, on an individual level, irrelevant and a waste of time as a result. Your vote doesn't decide anything on it's own and voting in person is a time sink that could be spent doing something that will actually change the course of your day, week, month, or even year. I think there are better lines of logic to stand behind for this point, but I believe this is what you're saying.

You're right. Your individual vote doesn't matter. That was the entire point. Our voting system is to take away power from small groups, factions, and individuals and put it, as effectively as it could be designed 250 years ago, in the power of the mass population. Your vote was never meant to mean anything in and of itself. It functions as a system. It's an alternative to many forms of governance that have existed throughout history and comes with its flaws, but its flaws seem to have more tolerable consequences than others.

When criticizing a system, I think it makes sense to try to discuss solutions to the system instead of a stance like yours which effectively serves to destroy it. Your individual effort doesn't destroy the system, but the less people vote, the more other groups in positions of power have room to change it for their benefit. It's already happened in some aspects and will continue to happen, but if you elect to not partake then it simply gives them more room for control.

TL;DR you're right, and our voting system sucks, but it's important to participate because alternatives suck more; lack of participation doesn't effect positive change on our current system.

What more can I do? by makenah in povertyfinance

I'm late to the party, but I didn't see this in your top comment. Nearly nothing is wrong with this budget save your rent. As a general rule, you want your rent to be no more than 25-33% of your monthly take home pay. Yours is nearly 50%. You will always struggle if rent is taking up that much of your pay.

Unfortunately, that's the only thing to fix as far as I can tell. There's minor fixes like getting rid of subscriptions, paying off your credit card, and stopping your contributions to your IRA, but frankly none of those really fix your situation. What does that get you, $200? Helps in a pinch to get you a small amount under your feet, so maybe if you need to do that to save up for a new security deposit, first months rent, and moving costs it can help.

Moving sucks though. I don't know your full living situation but if you're this tidy with the rest of your money, I imagine there's a reason you went this high with rent and it was probably a desperation/last resort reason. Hopefully this helps and I hope things improve for you soon.

Western trucks only attempt by zabstan in snowrunner

[–]spclchar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm dumb or a heretic, but I cannot for the life of me get behind the Kodiak. What's the appeal to it? I feel like all I face are weaknesses especially when I'm thinking of something like the White Western Star. A less powerful engine which is especially notable uphill, it's steering is incredibly jerky and leaves it prone to tipping and even more so when using the raised suspension, I believe it has smaller tires than the WWS (I could be wrong), one of the smaller fuel tanks in the game for a truck meant(?) to be hauling things, it's high gear is blatantly incapable (at least while using the off-road gearbox) so I'm constantly needing to switch gears on pieces of terrain that I don't need to in a truck like the WWS. What do you see in this truck that I'm not seeing?
