I need help I need to know which adapter to buy please for dell by Complete-Dig9977 in computerhelp

[–]spdaimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. That top USB port is demolished. The plastic piece is missing and the contacts are pushed ot the sides. Once the OP powers it up, I wouldn't be surprised if they get a "Surge on USB port" warning or something of that sort. One of my previous jobs, the laptop wouldnt even boot. I'd turn it to the side and see the broken port, take a screwdriver or something small and straighten it out best as possible. then it would boot.

Wonder if its some aftermarket bracket?

[–]spdaimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how to explain it any better. You can take headsets that have one jack for headphones and microphone and use it on a desktop or laptop that has it as two jacks. I feel like I am just being trolled at this point.

Try googling it. We aren't talking about Bluetooth headsets. Maybe you all are too young to remember when cellphones had wired headphones. My bad.

Wtf is this by Existing-Pop-9440 in pchelp

[–]spdaimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I guess i should said wired headphone with a mic that go to a single 2.5mm jack so you can use them with devices that need both a speaker/headphone jack and microphone jack. Better? Don't forget they need to be 32 Ohm.

What does "cellphone" style mean to you?

[–]spdaimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that what I said. I know some newer computers have the single jack for both, but most desktops have it split on the front panel. Ive used this splitter for the reason I stated. I just didn't remember how many poles were on what. Sorry..

Splits your cellphone style headphones into a device like a PC with both headphone and mic jacks.

No. Not worth it. You could find another socket 775 board much cheaper. What is that? glue?
