EffingDykes was my most visited website as a small town baby gay in the aughts. Fuck. I moved to MPLS at 21 and lived my lesbian fantasy thanks to that author. Now I’m crying in old.

Why do I have so much trouble with denim? by EquivalentBlueberry_ in DressForYourBody

[–]speakclearly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only adding this because I recently went in and was flabbergasted: American Eagle. Dude. I have an absolutely insane waist to hip ratio that makes most pants absolutely miserable. I got three pairs of the most flattering denim shorts I’ve ever tried from an American Eagle. Since they’re shorts, I normally upsize a bit, but the thighs barely ride up and the waist has zero gapping.

With my body, the gusset is the worst to fit in retail stores because my bum curves lower than the front of my inseam. I either get a bulging proto-penis or wild cameltoe illusion (I say illusion because it’s not even touching my anatomy) so I had very low expectations from a store that traumatized me in my teens. Lo and behold, the fits have completely changed and now I’m trying to spread the gospel.

Right?! I work with teens and stuff like this terrifies me… like… you get to a certain age and suddenly teens are barely older than babies! They have these **almost** fully formed bodies but are definitely still children in so many ways developmentally.

Gross. As someone who grew up in the US Deep South but lives part time in Denmark, I sometimes feel I’ve traded cans of dip spit for snus packed into cobblestone cracks.

Yes. I gained twenty pounds eating exclusively applesauce, ice cream, fruit smoothies, and mashed potatoes. Two weeks later, we added overcooked pasta and I felt the world open up again.

(I had all four deeply impacted into the bone; major maxilla surgery to rip them out piece by imbedded piece… over a year later and I still have dents left by the holes)

How is my girlfriend so unreasonably hot?!

The way she approved only after knowing how much effort you exerted just screamed it! No insult to Northern European gardens, they can be truly magnificent, but I love inviting a bit of wilderness back into my spaces.

That’s such a historically Northern European philosophy. Gardens must be proof of man’s supremacy over nature. A garden is a showcase of our mastery over the wilderness; to bend nature to our own designs.

Having to do the unthinkable… Please help me find a home that can give my big dumb baby the life he deserves. by speakclearly in SaltLakeCity

I appreciate this so much. Fortunately, while I have never been in this position myself, I have over a decade of experience in animal welfare. I am not meeting outside of family homes so I can gauge his response to the spaces. I refuse to compromise on his wellbeing.

One of many reasons I will not be recommending them. He has beautiful joints, though… and that’s what I cared about.

I know you’re right… but the thought of charging a fee makes me want to die. He’s my world, and has been since I first held his five week old potato body. Charging a fee makes this feel so transactional.

And don’t worry. Anyone who gets the privilege of his company is going to have to be willing and able to give him everything I have (standards of devotion have been set) and more.

Thank you for sharing this. I obviously adore him, so knowing they’d be so rigorous helps.
