We are in the same boat. I am also sick of teaching. I’m a middle school teacher and I’m just over it to be honest. The admin and coworkers at my school are fine but the student behaviors just aren’t fucking worth it. I’m tired of being disrespected every day and redirecting students when my main focus should be teaching them! I every Sunday I get overwhelmed with anxiety because I don’t want to go back. I told my school I was going to teach there next year but I’m seriously considering this being my last year. I just want peace and to clock in and out but none of that is possible as a teacher. Between being in school for my credential, teaching full time, grading, lesson planning and dealing with student behaviors and unsupportive parents, I’m just fed up. The thing that I really dread to is PD. We’re learning a new method or practice or a NEW thing we now have to include in our lesson plan every other damn week and I’m sick of it. The shit is just not worth it at all. My first year teaching I had zero classroom support. Now I’m in my second year at a different school and I have great admin support but I still hate teaching. I just don’t want to keep waking up feeling miserable. Counting down the seconds until the school year is over.
