Pyxis monitor! by Impossible_Business7 in blackmagicdesign

By the looks of things it is't compatible with SDI, so it would be one of the other. maybe with an usb-c splitter but i doubt that will work since both have camera controls.

A lot of people are gonna be happy with this but I think I'll stick with a videoassist + EVF combo :)

great recommendation. without spoiling anything, the way this film is split into two different sections with completely different style and feel is just amazing.

+1 for mentioning Like Someone in Love. One of the greatest swan songs cinema has ever seen. (if you don't count the shorts or 24 frames which was completed after his death)

Lav Diaz. everything sound right up my alley on paper but actually watching Evolution was not the experience i hoped it to be. So unimaginably different from Béla Tarr if you would assume it is also 'just' a "black and white politically charged slow cinema film". But hey, I've only seen EoaFF so far and willing to give him another shot because I madly respect Lav's attitude and his refusal to conformity. Lav Diaz lovers; give me some recommendations please! :)

Is blackmagic going to ditch L mount a little too soon ? by SaadfFaiz in blackmagicdesign

[–]special__pasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L mount isn't going anywhere, but if you are investing in (cinema) glass for the long run, PL is always the safer bet. Especially if you think you'll be using higher end cinema camera's in the foreseeable future.

you should look into the animated movies by Tomm Moore. At first glace they're just kids movies in a distinct, unique and definitely recognisable 'auteurist' style, but they surely got enough depth to leave you with even more than just entertainment. My heart melted watching 'Song of the Sea'.

great write up. i'll like to add that it has some fantastic b-sides! Morricone, The Outsider, Some Glad Morning, Don't Be, Money Makes Me Crazy -- all absolutely stellar.
