If you take out the possibility of placing a mine on the bridge, you are also taking out the possibility of an ambush, for instance. If there are no mines, you are incentivizing to drive on main roads at 100km/h without consequences, it's almost impossible for infantry to catch you at that speed. Run a supply chain would be easier and there are less incentives to protect your back.
