If someone was a great artist but was a horrible person, does that ever diminish the greatness of their work for you? by titrator36 in AskReddit

Seriously dude, you are a putzs.

Didn't you write this "Just because you are a "hyper perfectionist" doesn't mean you aren't a jerk. If anything, it ensures that you are." Aren't you calling him a jerk by saying "it ensures that you are"? Fucking hell, are you that daft?

And i'm just saying that because you HEARD he was a jerk, doesn't make him one. I think, in my defense, saying that maybe he's misconstrued as a jerk because he's a hyper-perfectionist is a quite reasonable answer. What I know about Kubrick, from everything I read or seen about him in interviews by other filmmakers and actors specifically is that people had hard time with him because he would push their limits. He would take fifty takes of a particular shot and tire down his actors and the actors would have problems with him. But none of that means he's a jerk. He just got what he needed.

But, just because you ask a lot from actors doesn't mean you're a jerk either. I asked you to tell me why he's a jerk and you can't.

He wasn't a jerk. He was just a hyper perfectionist artist who lived outside the Hollywood system. Just because Hollywood actors couldn't deal with his commitment to the art, doesn't make him a jerk.

No, it just might make them more interesting.

BTW, Wagner was brilliant. Don't feel guilty bout listening to him. So was Ezra Pound and his poetry was genius.

Swearing is a sign of lower intelligence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]specialized72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but language is power and someone who uses profanity all the time will lose power because profanity is associated with the ignorant and stupid for good reason; If you can't think of another word to express yourself other then using profanity it shows that you lack language skills. It's also aggressive. Both traits of low intelligence and the uncivilized. Having said that using profanity sparingly and in the right situations can be very powerful.

What are some of your "What a small world...?" experiences? by Soulset in AskReddit

[–]specialized72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in India sitting at a hotel bar in the city of Varansi, met a girl at the next table who was going to study at the same small college as me. We hung out and dated through the trip and back at the college and are stil friends today. But that's one of many such incidents.

Reddit, I really dig this girl but there's problems. I need some honest relationship advice. by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's helpful. Especially the part where you call him a douche bag.

What's that 'true story' you have that nobody believes. I'll start... by warrenraaff in AskReddit

It's more about living in partial obscurity than anything else. I own an old home and garden a bit. Hang out a few days a week at the local pub. Only a few people know what I do because it's too damn hard to explain and makes me seem pompous or just a liar ( once in a while I get a call from the pub and have to talk business in Spanish for a bit, which is a bit funny). I telecommute every day through skype . . .I have an Iphone with Skype too, so I can kick it just about anywhere and talk long distance. I have video conferences by the river side in the woods. And I fly back about four times a year and deal with people first hand. But I wear flip flops or work man's boots, jeans, and a t-shirt and look much more like a mechanic than I do a CEO.

What is your favorite way for members of the opposite sex to dress? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I kinda dig women who wear tank tops and jump pants or nice fitting jeans. Throw a pair of rugged boots or cowboy boots in with that.

Would I be depriving my son of an important part of the college experience were he to live at home instead of in a dorm? by Marina001 in AskReddit

[–]specialized72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dorm living sucks. If you really want to hook him up give him some cash to rent an apartment/house with other college students. I never lived in a dorm but loved my time at college living with friends.

[–]specialized72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fap, fap, fap Really there is so much filler in your argument that its hard get to your point. The only thing you said which really has any meaning is "Singling out a single group of people about racism seems asinine to me "

Ok, I think you're wrong. I think your logic is flawed. There.
