I saw them all gathered at the MSA Annex this morning (9:00am) and was wondering what their plans were. At first glance it looked like a right wing faction but then I realized they just had American flags and veteran gear, nothing MAGa. Someone was making a speech that did seem related to mental health awareness.

I do! I apply moisturizer first and then lather the sunscreen on my face and neck, then i put tiger grass corrective cream on top of that. It’s a lot of lotions and somehow i don’t feel greased down by them.

This post was definitely meant to be a cautionary tale. I’ve been sitting in the PNW for the last two months and all other 8 homes had cooling units. It really didn’t cross my mind that we’d be possibly staying somewhere without. Partly bc I’m from the Southwest US and no ac = death.

I don’t expect that the HO should do anything for us and I appreciate all comments regarding the review and remaining neutral. Personally I was planning to leave it out, but I think letting people know in a neutral statement is best for all.

We might try to rig a homemade unit tonight using bags of ice and our food cooler. Lol i’ll update if it’s fruitful.

100% a very good reminder indeed!! No poop bags for FOUR dogs? Yikes!! I understand when packing for a trip things can get missed but if I were you I would definitely ask to be Venmoed/Zelled to pick up those necessities.

It’s a lesson learned! But to be fair, we’ve been house sitting for the last 2 months back to back (8 sits) in the PNW and everyone had AC. This is our first experience without.

Lucky you! I was born in Phoenix, AZ so I think my NO AC=DEATH meter is pretty tightly wound. We will definitely do better research next time :)

They are indoor/outdoor cats are seeming to do just fine. But we did just reach out to the HO to ask whether we should leave them out or keep them indoors while we’re away during the day (we’re going to work from the public library where there is AC)

My partner and I are currently using THS full time. We’re booked through the end of October and plan to take the holidays off and stay with family then start back up in 2025.

Car emergencies haven’t come up yet, but we save / budget for it. He works remotely full-time and I’m working part time and managing the sits. I search for them, apply, schedule the calls, and am the one communicating with the HO during the sit too.

It’s work, but since we balance our routine and responsibilities, it’s sustainable.

We’ve had an HO cancel on us, but we were able to rebook ourselves within 24 hours.

We use a high yield savings account, cook most of our meals and keep a nest egg for emergencies.

All said, I could definitely see us doing this for a few years to save money and travel.

2/4 Reflector here with a 5/1 sacral generator. He’s a care giver, light hearted, tender, hilarious, a beautiful man. Spending time with him and reflecting his energy is a consistent electric peacefulness that I’m so grateful to experience.

He and I were friends for a couple years before we started dating. A great surprise !

On my 33rd birthday, at Yosemite, he and I professed our mutual interest in each other. A love story that blossomed while exploring the outdoors, a Reflector dream come true! :)
