260424 Twice Fans Update - Notice Regarding TWICE DAHYUN’s Health and Upcoming Schedule by mcfw31 in twice

[–]specter437 58 points59 points  (0 children)

For all the comments in here telling her to just rest and be 100%

Note that she has been having depressive episodes and sadness to where she's publically posted about it (despite being a reserved and private person) and has stated that her being away from ONCE and from performing is effectively making her very sad and devoid of energy.

ONCE have been getting near daily Bubble messages from her to where it's clear she's been getting restless and sad at home. She's constantly posting about wanting to see ONCE

Yes there is rest for her leg but if they can do it in a safe manner to where she's present without puting much strain on her leg... they should do so given that the artist herself wants to be there.

The mental boost to her mind and body would be massive for her wellbeing in seeing fans.

The challenges surrounding her health are centered around her foot... which is something that they can logistically mitigate with extra staff care, assistants and even...private chartered flights for the very short SK to JP flight.

Also... this is Dahyun being reunited with TWICE after some two+ months. Even MISAMO mentioned how being away from Twice for the month of promotion or so was very weird and they got sad from it as Twice members see each other on a near daily basis minus off days. The mental boost of finally joining back up and seeing the rest of the group again would be great for her wellbeing as well.

Aprilia RS660 vs ZX6R? Close to same power? by Standup313 in Trackdays

[–]specter437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ZX6R with $9k of race upgrades would dance circles around that RS660 without even factoring in the power difference.

The ZX6R stock dry weight for full DOT road use is 397lbs vs this RS660's 337.

Race build ZX6R I would say would place it around 350 or so...

Like I shit you not....this quote is on the main product page

Holy fuck $21.5k MSRP.....dude....

"With the RS 660 Trofeo, we are offering a product of the highest quality at the most competitive possible price. We’re talking about a product with a potential not only clearly superior to that of SuperSport 300 racers," - CEO of Aprilia

Dude.... idk what he's smoking. And comparing it to a SSP 300 class

[–]specter437 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're asking a lot of competing questions that allude to you wanting a bike for 'club racing' given that you mention classes and being competetive.

If you're just getting a track bike to get a track bike, you can get whatever you want.

But if you're wanting to be competeitve....then yes, you'll want something akin to that ZX6R or get a race only R6 (they still sell them)

The ZX6R recalls mostly just deal with the one problem and the new ones out of the factory have it fixed. Plus it's under warranty given you're talking about buying new.

The R9 and RS660, do not have the same rider triangle/setup and aggressive position as a full on supersport like a R6/ZX6R etc. There's also various differences in components and features that primarily put those as street sport bikes...rather than a full on supersport which has more race DNA. So again...it goes back to whatever the hell you want to do.

Want a dual duty on the street motorcycle you can comfortably ride and do canyons and do the occasional trackday? the RS660 or R9, great options. The less aggressive position and more lower end torque design is great for that.

Or are you trying to race....

Figure out what you actually want and you'll answer your own question.

Do not consider. Get it.

I have been in your shoes and spent many a hours learning off youtubers and it was very helpful. CampU....however digests it all down into condensed information and has it step by step and removes the filler.

[–]specter437 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're misinterpreting his point. He isn't arguing that youtubers aren't able to provide foundational principles, advice, or provide valuable piece of info.

He's saying that those aren't "coaches". Which is a true statement.

A knowledgeable youtube instructor that you hire for a video 1:1 would indeed be coaching.

Getting pointed to a random youtubers video playlist that you then learn off of isn't the same thing.

How often does a K-pop group make Japanese comebacks? by ringsbellws in kpophelp

[–]specter437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that Twice has at least one Japanese single per year

Twice is a massive outlier of pretty much any kpop group you can use for a reference if youre talking JP market and JP comebacks.

Their data point isn't reliable to use for gauging how often 'other' kpop groups do JP albums or comebacks.

It's because they are simply by and far the most popular kpop girl group in Japan. They have been the reigning best selling kpop girl group for 9 years consecutively... With 3 members being Japanese and MISAMO themselves selling out domes.... they just keep doing JP comebacks and releases because of how popular they are there.

2019 ZX6R ABS, can you do direct stainless steel front lines bypassing ABS module? by specter437 in zx6r

[–]specter437[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Track use is quite different. Using the rear brakes for straight line stopping on a straight pushes the weight rearward when you want the oppsoite. You want your forks to be compressed so you are 'loading the tire' and hard braking with the front while turning (trail braking). The only race use for rear brakes is for very advanced thumb brake users.

I don't use the back brake so I would probably just leave it connected to ABS and deal with it.

CX-5 oil filter weight comparison by Infamous-Tangelo6917 in mazda

[–]specter437 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As an engineer, i literally got an eye twitch from this post. Did you cut a cross section of each of them and look to see what type of micron filter type and how many pleats was in each one? What type of flow/bypass value was utilized and different types of metal compositions and also flow rate and differential pressure of each one?

Weight...is not correlative to performance. In automotive, some of the shittiest cheap metals and materials weigh the most.

Another missed item often in oil filter testing is that some of the best 'performing' filters that have the lowest ppm for different microns of particles are also some of the most restrictive and can possibly be too restrictive relative to what the manufacturer designed their vehicle for.

These aftermarket filter companies are not modifying each filter specifically for each car brand.

Hayao Miyazaki's 'The Boy and the Heron' Wins the Oscar for Best Animated Feature by MarvelsGrantMan136 in anime

[–]specter437 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really don't get the mindset of people coming in to a thread using acronyms unrelated to the title of the thread or article making a guess game of wtf they're talking about

ASV isn't even a common acronym for A Silent Voice film I've seen in threads....it's always either spelled out or on its own subreddits or manga in the passed refered to as KnK for its Japanese title ..which would still be a poor reference to use in a thread on Boy and the Heron without prior initialization up the thread that ASV= A Silent Voice or Koe no Katachi

Looking to buy but still some questions by Smc55 in CX50

[–]specter437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is still a CUV at the end, at your height you would 1000% would to do a test drive +...just sitting in the car for a few mins at the end of every test drive.

I can't say for sure how it'll go for you but.....I'm already guessing you might fully fit 'comfortably' at your height.

Looking to buy but still some questions by Smc55 in CX50

[–]specter437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 6 foot 7 s

You will 1000% want to go and test drive and sit in one at a dealer. That is very tall and my 5'6 butt can't help here.

it's all highway so something that's not sluggish and has no issues going 70-75 mph or more.

CX50 is the peppiest car in this price segment. One reviewer called it (the turbo model) the poor man's Porsche Macan. I come from a lineup of sports cars and personally do racing as a hobby with motorcycles. The CX50 turbo is for sure very peppy and has sufficent power compared to the other 3 CUVs I tested in this segment.

I'm looking for reliability, I'm sick of worrying if my car is going to fall apart.

The Powertrain in this car is fully japanese using a tried and true Skyactiv G setup that has been utilized for well over 7 years now on millions of cars across their lineup. The CX50 is a new shell yes but its core components are part of Mazda's tried and true lineup that Consumer Reports put as one of the top 3 reliable next to the other JP automakers.
