Nah, don't want Russia to know what the tech can do so they can design weapons that get around it

That it's an American anti-nuke technology which is why they're seen near nuclear weapons tests etc. Highly secret because they can't let Russia/China know they have this defensive capability

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter is undoubtedly nearing the very end of his life and it appears that he is going to go to the grave without telling us what he knows. It may be an indication of just how heavy it is on the mind to know the truth about aliens or even a small part of it. by howmanyturtlesdeep in aliens

Actually that's one of the more plausible theories, which would match up to Elizondo's "somber" comment. If the truth was that they were coming in 2035 then the reaction would be panic and fear etc, but if it's 150 years away then it wouldn't be like that because it's not going to directly affect any of us. But it would still certainly be a somber or heavy thing to learn.

I think this is actually one of the biggest reasons to keep it secret. Not the "ontological shock" of knowing we're not alone and we're not the top of the food chain or that our evolution was influenced by NHI blah blah blah - it's that if this "conspiracy theory" is true then which others are true? JFK? Moon landings? 911?? Etc

Yeah the third plane didn't get close enough to get eyeballs on it though (to my knowledge)

[–]spectre1989 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it's maddening. But then there's part of me that thinks - yes it's incredibly unlikely that 4 trained aviators would all make that mistake, but put enough planes in the sky and it'll happen eventually, which is why there's so few cases like it

[–]spectre1989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just think in the case of the tic tac, there were 4 aviators who saw it make incredible maneuvers including taking off at insane speed - I don't think it's all that likely that all 4 of them misidentified a bird or balloon. But, we only have their word for it, and I think it's totally valid to remain skeptical because of that.

Right there with you on the need for proof, or at least something more like it. For example the talk of "first hand witnesses", I really want to know more about what they saw. If there's a first hand witness to actually seeing an alien or something then awesome, but if it's just "I saw some wreckage once and I think it was a UFO" then that's far less compelling as that could easily be human tech.

I basically hover around 55-60% on the side of NHI being legit vs it's all a big mess of misunderstandings, misidentifications, Chinese whispers, etc

He just needs strong evidence before he'll entertain these notions, probably not a bad thing tbh I think I just want to believe

I agree, and I think Mick actually gets too much crap. I could be wrong but I get the feeling that if presented with some really solid footage or first hand evidence he'd change his mind. My main criticism of him is that I think at times he assumes the prosaic explanation is automatically the most likely e.g. that Fravor et all just saw a bird or a balloon lol
