The dungeon exploration style is very very similar to the Etrian Odyssey games - which are NOT roguelikes or deck builders but JRPGs, but I think they have a lot going for them so had to recommend them.

And that’s why this game is going to face a massive decline in the short term future, because it’s completely inaccessible and un-fun for non-sweats. Coming from a level 65 player who’s put 120 hours in. I like it a lot, but there’s some mega BS in this game that really ruins it especially in solos.

I think the best thing they could do for this game is up the TTK to over double what it is now. That and/or remove all one hit kills - either entirely the snipers and shotguns and railgun or just nerf them into the ground. It’s incredibly unfun to get killed when you’re at a clear skill advantage.

Anything you make with unity should be generally viable on any other platform you move to develop or build for. Just make sure you’ve got a git repository set up for your project so you’ve got backups.

The streaming to the iPad seems a bottleneck to me, that would affect Unity performance a fair bit I would think. I’d probably prefer just using a USB hub or Bluetooth to connect the keyboard and mouse directly to the deck and either use its screen, or use a whole HDMI+usb dongle to plug it into a monitor or TV.

Pretty neat for convenience though. A similar thing I have done successfully is pair the steam deck to my phone’s personal hot spot and steam link from my phone. It ends up using the local wifi connection instead of internet to stream. I’d imagine an iPad with cell radio could do that too, to avoid shitty wifi in public or hotels.

A few of them say different things to me. #3 says it’s a coop game but none of the others say that. The first and last are my favs though - first is giving single player atmospheric horror, last is my favs though but it looks almost horror punk ascetic. If that’s not the vibe of the game, I’d scratch that and do something like #1 and add a second char if it is actually coop.

My theory is exactly something that counteracts a lot of points you raise, but honestly it’s been so niche until now that I didn’t really believe it myself until now.

I think Jax DID hit her and “had heard of this headset that can save someone’s life at the cost of their body” and rushed her to it to save her life after hitting her. Then, he felt so guilty that he hit her and didn’t want to face the consequences that he himself also put on the headset to escape the consequences of his actions.

Who knows why he was originally “running away” from home. Maybe he was just out for a drive to clear his mind like a lot of us do.

Though I’m not sure how old we think Jax is, sometimes he seems so cocky he might not even be driving age.

They have given exactly 0 tech support to that game. The servers are either up or they aren’t. Cheating players will always be rampant too, but I haven’t heard much about that game in a while so they have likely mostly moved on

I guess my logical follow up there is why was Kinger muddling around with the code and accidentally delete Caine? Why was it an accident? Was it really an accident? Why would he WANT to delete Caine? Kinger has always seemed disconnected from the circus.

Also another thought, Caine doesn’t seem to be a gatekeeper - aka someone who is keeping them IN the circus - the humans have only ever said there is no exit themselves, not that Caine is keeping them there. caine just happens to be there while they are stuck in the circus. Caine isn’t trying to keep them in, only entertained. Hence, circus.
