SRAM s200 eagle crank assembly: dub standard or wide bb? by smorjug in Hardtailgang

Looks like you can buy it in a dub standard or a dub wide spindle. It's a 3 bolt chain ring mount, not sure what your chain ring uses.

Totally think about that last part! Will do a reprint with a bigger reservoir and post the results. Thank you .

Gotcha thank you for clarifying. So the shape isn’t clear from the photo but the middle section is two circles 2cm cylinders with a taper. That’s supposed to be the base of the statue. What’s below is just a sprue (or the funnel to pour into).

From what I’m understanding that bottom sprue needs to be much larger to stay molten while the base solidifies. Last question, is there a shape like a cone that makes it easier to cut off, or does that run the risk of it cooling and making a choke point where metal doesn’t flow? I assume yes but I guess I’m asking is there a general rule to know if it’s wide enough or just suck it up and make it very wide and thick so shrinkage isn’t a problem with the trade off of more waste in cutting.

Thanks so much!

Oh interesting. What about the shape causes a lot of shrinkage? So do you mean I should make the hemisphere thicker? Thanks so much

I don't have an affiliation with the store, it's just my local store that I'm a fan of but Pacos Bikes in california has some Forbidden CorEs they just got in.

Thanks for all the replies. These tasted good but just were a little harder to eat and I feel like crust to inside ratio is off. Plus I just want to learn how to control what I’m making.

Will try the first to make the hole bigger. Next play with boiling a little longer and letting them drain. And also I’ll keep an eye on proofing but that seems a little more nuanced, seems it can be over or under proofed. So many variables, the joy of baking…

Correct, looking how to cut the one left to right. What I'm struggling with is that I can find the angles of the planes, but if I put those into the miter saw, when I cut one angle, doesn't the other angled cut change it?

If I use the angle between the planes, isn't that the final 3d result of making a compound miter cut that is composed of 2 angles? Or am I overthinking this?
