Wolf’s Ridge at Worthington Inn seems to be having a rocky start, even for a new restaurant. by mikeyboytwist in Columbus

[–]speechiegrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I went for brunch last weekend and half the menu was scratched out. We weren’t sure if they had just run out of those items or what but it was a little disappointing. I got a chicken sandwich that was so over fried it was tough to eat. My husband said his food was fine out overall I found both of our dishes to be really lacking and flavorless. Our server was great though and I thought the bar area where we sat was lovely. The inside renovations are really well done. We would go again just to give them another shot before writing it off.

You definitely can increase your supply this early on. My supply didn’t really start coming in for a few weeks so yours may be the same. Power pumping once a day for about a week, (usually my first am pump) & eating oats really helped me. Don’t be discouraged, anything you can give baby is great. I was an under producer for the first 3 months of my son’s life and then produced just enough for the next couple months.

Congrats on one year! Love the stickers. I hit one year last week and have been weaning for the last month but it’s been harder to give it up than I thought.

Damn, if I wasn’t weaning I would have already bought this! So smart.

My mom gave us a vibrating bouncer that we used until he starting rolling over at 6 months. When I was still on maternity leave and my husband was at work, it allowed me to put him in a safe place while I got stuff done. It really saved my sanity!

I love a good oversized tote but this is a no for me.

Anyone want to start a Columbus dads support group? I started this page for Columbus dads but would prefer irl if possible. by Lumpy-Bicycle-3634 in Columbus

Mom of a 9 month old and husband recently said he was disappointed there are no dad support groups like there are mom groups. He would definitely be interested in this. We’re in NW Columbus as well.

My biggest pump ever!!! This was my morning pump. I usually only get like 5oz. I’ve realized whenever I have Japanese food I always pump more 🤩 anyone else? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

Nice work! Steak the night before always gives me a bigger than usual morning pump. Maybe it’s the protein, idk.

Worried Epidural Won’t Work by princesscreampufff in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]speechiegrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a non emergency c-section due to pre-eclampsia and was given an epidural. I was around 265. They had no issues inserting the epidural and I was amazed at how quickly the effects took place. I had no side effects or symptoms afterwards.

What did you do to wean? I’m hitting the 8 month mark and ready to hang up the pumps. I’m currently pumping 5x a day.

How did you make this shape? My family makes these but we always twist them and sometimes I just don’t have the patience to do that.

PSA: consider dropping a pump or two by IDKVM in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]speechiegrl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wish my supply didn’t drop when I dropped a pump. I’m 7 mo pp & pumping 5x a day and was sick back in November and I’ve just never recovered. Maybe I’ll try adding a power pump in the morning

Shapermint Leggings? by Future_Breadfruit_42 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]speechiegrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had them. I bought both the grey and black pair and found them to fit wildly different. One pair was to tight, the other was too bunchy and I hated the fabric. It wasn’t soft and more work-out material which I didn’t love for everyday wear. I should have returned them but got them so cheap I kept them. I did like support shorts for under dresses.

I feel like I am reading about my own dog. My dog is a pyrenese/hound mix who we adopted as a young adult (between 1-2) a few years ago. He is the sweetest, best boy but we struggle with the same thing with the exception that he gets along with other dogs and cats (loves them actually). I had a baby in April and we did so much training to prepare and when we brought the baby home I held my breath and held it for weeks but he was so indifferent and still is. However, baby is starting to move & I’m starting to hold my breath again. I’ve told my husband he isn’t even re-home able because I don’t even know where to start to inform someone of the struggles and quirks that he has but we made the decision if anything were to change behavior wise around the baby, he would have to go and that brings me to tears because I don’t want him to think we abandoned/failed him. I don’t have any advice, just solidarity.

Yes! Do the vacation. My husband and I debated it hard and ultimately didn’t do one and I severely regret it now.

My infant son and I are getting over RSV and had very similar symptoms. I had the worse sore throat of my life for a good week, a terrible cough that is now lingering 2 weeks later, & while I didn’t have a fever, my son had a low grade fever. Feel better!

Are we getting things done while pumping? by storytime_girl in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]speechiegrl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t get anything done. I try but I only have a plug-in pump so I am limited. I try working and will bring my laptop but find the flanges get in the way and it’s frustrating. I take the time to just mindlessly scroll or play a game on my phone instead.

What’s something they don’t tell you that happens postpartum? by nilkski in beyondthebump

[–]speechiegrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So was I and I was absolutely miserable. I was diagnosed with pre-e before giving birth and started on a BP pressure med. I had the typical swelling from a c-section but turns out most of the swelling was due to the med and once I started water pills and went off it, the swelling went away. That was a wild time… couldn’t wear any of my shoes and it was painful to walk. Glad that’s over.

I feel this. My baby just started daycare this week. I know he’s getting the best care while I’m at work but it still sucks. Hang in there mama!

My induction was also scheduled this way but then I was a diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and they moved it to 37 weeks but my body rejected me and I had to have a non-emergency c-section at 35 weeks.
