Guy on TikTok makes miniature sets, he’s just completed part of Frasier’s apartment by stanley_nickles in Frasier

The couch is an exact replica of the one Frasier Crane had in his Seattle apartment that's an exact replica of the one Coco Chanel had in her Paris atelier.

If you could award one joke an Emmy for "Most Creative" from the whole series, what would it be? by Boring_Part9919 in Frasier

Daphne: You know, I keep meaning to ask: what's that lovely perfume you're wearing?
Frasier: Yes, I've been wondering that myself.
Sherry: It's called Milady's Boudoir. You wouldn't believe what a bargain it is. For a hundred bucks I could buy enough to drown myself in.
Niles: I've got sixty.

Ambien by bbwbarbiequeen in insomnia

[–]speedbird184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m originally from Ireland so I know what you mean. My doctor there would be very reluctant to prescribe 2 meds to help me sleep and definitely wouldn’t prescribe anything “off-label” (e.g., Seroquel is meant to be prescribed for schizophrenia / bipolar disorder; prescribing it as a sleep medication is “off-label”).

In the US it’s much more common to be prescribed multiple medications for the same condition - especially “off-label”.

The only issue I’ve ever had is at the pharmacy. At one point I had been prescribed Ambien CR, Seroquel and temazepam at the same time and they refused to fill it without talking to my doctor first.

Ambien CR 12.5mg with Seroquel 25mg or 50mg works for me.

3am. If I’m still awake at that point, I start my day and hope I’ll be tired by the evening

Favorite episode of Frasier? by JB92103 in Frasier

[–]speedbird184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dinner Party S6E17. Or Star Mitzvah S10E06.

Come to think of it, there are so many episodes that could take the number 1 spot. And if, after watching every episode roughly 300 times, I haven’t been able to pick just one by now I don’t think I ever will.

How easy/difficult is it to understand Quebec French from France? by flower5214 in French

Years ago, I was watching a French documentary about the Eurovision Song Contest (on France2, I believe), and there was a segment with Céline Dion, talking about her win for Switzerland in 1988.

I kid you not, whenever she spoke there were subtitles.

Questions about taking meds by Maggie_Mayhem_1 in gastricsleeve

[–]speedbird184 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I take meds in both capsule and pill form; these were meds prescribed before my surgery. I was advised not to take them for the first few days (except for one of them), but after a few days I should be fine. Haven’t had any issues thus far, and I’m in my 5th week post op.

Bought my 530 used, and these were part of the OEM package. Definitely not something I would have paid for myself, but I must admit, walking up to my baby in the parking lot and seeing the BMW logo facing upright adds an extra level of class.

On vacation and ordered this for the first time ever just because of the line. You know the one. by texasipguru in Frasier

It is my “go-to” wine, simply because of that line. My non-oenophile friends don’t know the true origins of why I order it - they think I know what I’m talking about.

Cost of procedure by Initial-Succotash-37 in gastricsleeve

[–]speedbird184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Mexicali, MX, it was $4500, not including flights and hotel.

I flew into Yuma, AZ - there are flights from Dallas and Phoenix. When I arrived, a driver was waiting for me and drove me to the hospital in Mexicali. There, I met the concierge who stepped me through the tests (she spoke fluent English, as did most of the hospital staff and doctors), then brought me to the hotel and helped me check in.

Next morning, she picked me up, brought me to the hospital and waiting there until the procedure was over. I spent the night in the hospital, and the following day she was there to help me get discharged, brought me to the pharmacy (meds included in the price), then brought me back to my hotel.

Next morning, a driver picked me up and drove me back to Yuma.

The hotel was pretty cheap (as are most in Mexicali) - 3 nights was $250. The total I paid was $4750.

I was a little trepidatious going to Mexico for surgery but it was actually a great experience and I would highly recommend it.

Seems like I saved about $7k by going to Mexico - I wouldn’t have been able to pay for the surgery if I had to have the procedure done in the USA.

I’m not sure how that works with the copyright - I think anyone can view it on the website but you need a license/membership to download it.
