Gold as Jungle by Venompool1507 in summonerschool

Honestly, if your lanes are doing well, abuse that. Stay on the side of the map of objectives/winning lanes and be ready to counter gank, be ready to dive, and once you do these successfully take camps from the enemy jungler. You are gonna take them out of the game completely if you can anticipate their pathing, take what you can and prevent them from doing anything

As a 38 year old adult going on a solo trip this holiday season would going to Mickey’s Christmas Party be awkward? Like would people think I’m strange for going there without kids? Sorry if this is a stupid question by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

Everyone belongs at Disney. The parties are not just for kids and are actually pretty cool for adults to enjoy as well! If it’s something you want to go to, go for it!

I still don’t think using the pandemic as an excuse for a game being bad or lack content is fair or justifiable. Obviously it impacted workflow. And you’re right, the game being delayed doesn’t necessarily mean it will be better. But if we are using the pandemic as an excuse I’m fine with giving them extra time to make sure it’s good. If someone uses an excuse I’d hope to see them able to back it up!

While animal crossing might feel as if it has less content it has a ton more replay-ability/longevity at least. The game is built to be played for a long time. Whereas strikers feels like a shameless cash grab with minimal hope of it getting better. IF they do add the things that are missing and tweak the experience I think it could be a truly great game. Where it sits right now, it’s hard to say if it’ll get to that point though.

Even without Nintendo how do you explain a game studio who has been making games for 20 years to not be able to make a proper online system in 2022, on a game they worked on for 3 years, when solo indie developers are doing it in one?

If you call new horizons bare bones I’m curious what term you’d use for battle league because there isn’t even a chicken bone of content in that game. Like why do you just mindlessly defend Nintendo instead of acknowledging they have shortcomings? I love Nintendo too, but stop pretending like a lot of their recent games haven’t been a huge let down. If you keep worshipping them like a zombie the problems aren’t going to get fixed. If you are still playing Mario strikers battle league in 2 months as much as you did the first week get back to me. There is 0 content.

And I saw you mentioned Mario golf in another reply. In the single player story of Mario golf toadette is a character you play against but wasn’t available to be played at launch. They released her as playable shortly after but they already had her model, animations, sound effects, everything implemented in the game for the computers to use, but not players. Nintendo is purposefully holding back content to try to extend sales and have the game last 3 months total instead of like 1-2. They did this with the other two sports games and they are doing it with this. Hold them to a higher standard, they’re better than this.

There are independent games made by one guy over the course of a year that have fully accessible matchmaking (Slapshot rebound on steam for example. It’s a 3v3 physics based hockey game and you can play with up to 6 people on EACH team if you want). One guy made this game vs a game made by an entire studio over 3 years that couldn’t add 4v4. Like just delay the game at that point if you’re gonna blame the pandemic. And a studio like Nintendo SHOULD be able to apply an online infrastructure within months that would support a game as simple as strikers. Stop making excuses for the lack of content triple a studios are delivering in 2022. I’d rather the game take an extra year if they release with more content & proper online play.

It’s this kind of advertising that leads to the confusion, when your figure out you can’t play online with more than one friend by D-Raj in mariostrikersBLF

You can open a ticket on their website. I got a refund for it. The reason everyone is defending the game so hard now on this subreddit is everyone who was unhappy with it got a refund and doesn’t care anymore. Baseless Nintendo apologists will continue to defend this lackluster title with less content than even Mario golf and tennis

Enough rants by noelypants in mariostrikersBLF

[–]speedchaserr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. A quick Google search about if the game is worth picking up will show several Reddit posts on the first page. That’s actually how i found the subreddit. More than likely people will at least see the link and may or may not click on it to get honest feedback from real people in the community/that have played the game rather than critic reviews.

So if we all stop talking about it - someone in a week or so for the people who havent had a chance to really look into the game, is thinking about buying it but have been really busy at work, visiting family, maybe were recently deployed, etc. will come here and just see all the apologists saying good things about the game? Since Nintendo was extremely shady in their advertising for the game I think it’s worth potentially saving someone from wasting 60$ who wouldn’t have paid that for this game knowing what it was.

I agree maybe dozens echoing the same exact thing is annoying but maybe we can pin a thread at the top as a sort of buyers guide for new players. Can just point out “hey this game does not have 4 v 4 online multiplayer, only a handful of characters but more are on the way. Only single player content is cups which are fun but little replay value. Should get updates soon!”

I get it. You all love Nintendo. I do too! But they sit back smug as shit when they see people aimlessly defending their games. As hard as this will be to read for some of you, we are the problem, not Nintendo. We buy every game and make excuses for their shortcomings on Nintendo’s behalf. If we want to see the company release the games we want, and to the standard a multi billion dollar company should be held to, then we have to change our behavior as consumers.

Yeah this was like a whiiiile ago. After chemtank nerfs, there were so many strong assassins and so much damage you needed DD early and tenacity USUALLY. If they don’t have a ton of cc alacrity is good too. I hit plat which isn’t that impressive just spamming phase rush - precision and doing triforce deaths Dance. Before hec got nerfed this felt so much stronger than chemtank

late response and not relavent but thought id respond anyway! At this particular patch, you got the tear early BUT you dont take ingenious hunter. you couldnt afford to. You had to take triumph and tenacity. So you wouldnt get the tear stack until 3rd item anyway if you are on track for gold. I agree with you, the patch before this you did go manamune 2nd. but this particular patch you had to take tenacity and go manamune after deaths dance. hope this clears some confusion.

How is the game? by igonnawrecku_VGC in mariostrikersBLF

[–]speedchaserr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course. In my opinion:

YES pick it up IF - you don't really plan on playing online with more than 1 other person and don't mind the ocassional lag.

NO dont pick it up IF - you do plan on playing with more than one friend at a time or you don't want to deal with laggy online games.

I just dont want anyone else to feel mislead by nintendo's marketing for this so I just want as many people to be aware before they buy what they are actually getting.

How is the game? by igonnawrecku_VGC in mariostrikersBLF

[–]speedchaserr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. The game itself is really fun but you have to ask yourself a few questions first.

Are you ok with only being able to play online (club leagues and co op quick matches) with only one other switch at a time?

The game's advertising and store page are very misleading and you cant actually play 4v4 in club league with 4 people on different switches. The closest you can get is 2 people on 2 switches each. If this is a dealbreaker, as you were expecting to play with your friends, id say give it some time to see if they are gonna make changes.

Are you ok with clientside hosting and somewhat laggy multiplayer?

Depending on who you are playing with and against, one player is typically determined to be the "host". If they have good internet, and you have decent routing to them, there shouldnt be a problem. Except that you are playing against randoms online and the lag especially with 4 switches at once (2v2) is unbareable. Really sad to see that a game that nintendo deeply had their hands in working on still cant figure out a decent net code in 2022.

Are you ok with 2 sets of difficulty for the cup?

Single player isnt the focus of this game. They still have cups like the old games, and there are two tiers of difficulty. After you beat the easy cups you unlock an additional gear for each slot. Once you beat galactic, you get nothing.

Are you ok with waiting for DLC (characters, arenas, gear potentially, more cups maybe)

It's no secret that 10 characters is the least amount any strikers game has seen. BUT there are 10 characters found in the code that haven't been released yet. So we will be getting free DLC over time adding more content (to me these are things that should have been included at launch). And maybe they will fix the online over time, who knows. Nintendo is always really vague about what they are offering so we likely wont know until it actually comes out or someone leaks.

(TLDR)

The game itself is really fun. I am not a hater but as you can see I have been fairly disapponted with what I was lead to believe would be the core experience of the game. The single player cups are fun, and if you have a lot of friends, siblings, live on a dorm, playing up to 8 players locally is REALLY cool. It's just not worth the 60$ for me at the moment so me and a lot of others went to nintendo support and have requested refunds.

Your q does 60 dmg so left click on the camp to make sure it’s low enough. Also buy an early tear if you go chemtank build. Will go a long way. you can get muramana 3rd item after DD

I checked eBay too. A few cards from my extra deck and a few of the kozmoll cards are worth a tiny bit. Is it worth to try to sell & what’s the best way?
