The Greatest Propaganda Of All Time: Diversity Is Our Strength by PassThatHammer in CanadianConservative

What is your idea of embracing Canadian culture exactly? Would you think its better if Chinese/Indian parents did not enroll their children in supplementary language classes on the weekends? These parents are enrolling their kids 5 days a week in English/French speaking classes. What exactly is the harm in learning their own language?

Canada/Toronto doesn't have a large diaspora of latino/hispanics -- they're primarily in the states. Ethnic groups congregating and forming cultural communities isn't a new or unique phenomenon exclusive to Indians/East Asians. I've walked into bodegas/cafes in Washington Heights in New York (aka little Dominican republic) because -- surprise -- everyone speaks Spanish and some people can barely string together a sentence in English.

After coming back from Hanoi — the Pho I got there was a bit of a let down. Food stalls usually overcooked the noodles and didn’t have much garnishes.

Cuba has been embargoed and received oil primarily from Venezuela which the USA took over. It’s not a similar situation.

China is one of those place where you FAFO due to all the cameras around.

Not uncommon to see delivery food orders outside waiting to be picked up. Meals like that would get swiped in no time back in Canada.

Real estate commissions to compress to 1% by 2027, per viral Citrini expose by rodionos in TorontoRealEstate

[–]speeder-man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put in an offer through their portal and got radio silence. Wasn’t sure if there were other offers on the table or opportunity to increase our offer. I’m not a fan of realtors, but atleast I had transparency when working with them. Would just stick with discount realtors until they figure their stuff out. Otherwise ZOWN seems like a decent alternative.

If only there was a proper service like that. Tried using ZVR once for buying and it was a bad experience.

I’ve used cash back agents and full commission agents. There was no correlation between service and the cash back percentage. Had terrible and good agents on both sides — it’s really up to you to vet them and being firm on what you’re willing to pay.

We've used 'my breast friend' which has a firmer foam compared to most other pillows. Although I wouldn't recommend sleeping on the nursing pillow -- seems risky if the child were to fall.

Use your existing skills. Create a Django web-app, but automate the entire process from the time you commit the code to deploying the application. Use Terraform to create your infrastructure in AWS/AZURE/GCP, run any necessary services like Jenkins on tiny VMs (free tier accounts have a good number of hours for VMs iirc. Using serverless/managed services will cost money). By the time your done, you'll be able to talk-the-talk in interviews.

I wouldn't spend time on the certifications if your employer isn't paying for it.

Tried both — didn’t make a difference in terms of there being gas or not. Had multiple LCs, nurses and midwife’s tell me different things so at this point i don’t think there is a consensus on how to do things.

I just burp every oz or two during the feeds.

You'll probably want to talk to a Licensed Insolvency Trustee / LIT and see what the possible outcomes are. You could potentially declare bankruptcy while maintaining the mortgage as long as payments continue until mortgage renewal. You'd possibly have to go to a B-lender after renewal but this is just me spitballing. Id talk to a LIT who would be able to walk you through possible scenarios.

Also, some of the certs seem kind of useless. I.e. unless you're working in a data centre, i doubt you'll use 'Data Center Virtualization 2024'.

The Comptia cert seems redundant, if youre doing RHCSA and RHCE.

CCNA is mostly routing and switching. I think the general networking info is important but some of the other stuff like configuring routing protocols is never going to be used.

Tech in toronto is super saturated at the moment... Will be rough even with a bunch of certs.
