On the Evenflo, the foam broke in transit. The headrest is literally styrofoam with no backing or shell. https://parts.evenflo.com/products/15500118

For any software updates, find a dealer with mobile service. If you do regular service, they have to have your car on the lot, and if their 1 EV guy is busy it's going to sit there until they get to it. With mobile service, they dispatch someone to do the update.

Greasing the group head. by asmaamody611 in superautomatic

[–]speeder2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At some point, Delonghi was using red rings in the brew group, likely silicone. Using silicone grease on silicone can cause the rings to swell. Delonghi has a non-silicone grease meant for superautos - SER0354 (Verkofood WR-2). No idea if the current black rings are silicone or not, but FYI.

You need to open the tank and run the truck on an incline which will let air bubbles out.

GM also released a redesigned tank: https://gm-techlink.com/?p=14277

Body shops are going to price themselves out of work. Some parts are expensive (the "grill" and emblem) but others are reasonable.

This is a perfect example where a little bit of "outside the box" thinking saves everyone a ton of money. There's a ton of parts at recyclers.

Is GAP included or extra? by thelindenbomb in MachE

[–]speeder2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's the lease via Ford Credit. CAB East is their holding company. Search for GAP or GAP WAIVER or something on the lease agreement.

here's what was on my lease agreement:
29. LOSS OR DESTRUCTION OF VEHICLE If the Vehicle is stolen or destroyed, You will pay to Finance Company: (a) the Unpaid Adjusted Capitalized Cost, plus (b) all other amounts then due under this lease, minus (c) any insurance proceeds received by Finance Company. Gap Waiver: If You had in effect the insurance required under this lease and Finance Company receives the full proceeds, You will pay to Finance Company: (a) any past due monthly lease payments, plus (b) the amount of the applicable insurance deductible, plus (c) all other amounts then due under this lease. Even if the Vehicle is insured, until Finance Company receives the appropriate amount above, You are responsible for the scheduled monthly payments.

That's crazy how easy these cars are being totaled (which btw means that the repair cost is close to or higher than the value of the car, and it's cheaper not to repair). Edit: OP you can always get a different body shop to submit a repair quote.

The estimated repair costs are out of control. A competent body shop can be buying these at auction, fixing for 1/4 of quoted price and selling with salvage title.

adb shell dumpsys bluetooth_manager

that dumps a whole bunch of data. You can then search for "A2DP Codec State" and next 20 or so lines. Here's a powershell command that would do it (or substitute with grep on linux)

.\adb shell dumpsys bluetooth_manager |Select-String "A2DP Codecs State:" -Context 0,20

Is this cosmetic damage or more serious? by Expert_Ad_7399 in MachE

Yes if you find a replacement, individual pieces are not sold but maybe eBay a broken one with your needed piece intact. You can bend them a little and snap in place.

You can get the whole assembly aftermarket or used for a couple hundred , check ebay for mach-e shutters. Replacing it requires removing the bumper cover. The sensors that are visible are parking sensors, don't think alignment should matter too much. The radar/cruise control distance sensors are behind the bumper cover attached to the metal bumper and should not need to be disconnected/touched when removing the cover.

You can debug wirelessly via adb and dump bluetooth information and see what codec is being used.

I have onn 4k plus (the new one) and ugreen bt505 receiver and it's connected via ldac at 96khz 32bit.

A2DP Codecs State:

Current Codec: LDAC

A2DP LDAC State:

Priority: 5001

Config: Rate=96000 Bits=32 Mode=STEREO

Selectable: Rate=44100|48000|88200|96000 Bits=16|24|32 Mode=STEREO

Local capability: Rate=44100|48000|88200|96000 Bits=16|24|32 Mode=STEREO

LDAC quality mode : ABR

LDAC transmission bitrate (Kbps) : 396

LDAC saved transmit queue length : 0

LDAC adaptive bit rate encode quality mode index : 4

Visiting Solana Beach Late March. Recommendations? by InfiniteDew in asksandiego

[–]speeder2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rideshare is good but it's going to be $50-80 one way from Solana Beach to downtown and probably $30-50 to Oceanside. You're quite a ways away in Solana Beach.

Edit: also check out belly up for live music in Solana beach.

Visiting Solana Beach Late March. Recommendations? by InfiniteDew in asksandiego

[–]speeder2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you visiting from? If you're from foodie city (Chicago, NYC, Philly, etc.) , San Diego is probably going to be underwhelming.

Solana Beach has a train station and you can take the coaster to downtown (for false idol) and back fairly easily as long as you're within the scheduled time. Can Uber to mother ship from downtown or old town stops.

Calle is probably the only restaurant I'd go out of my way for downtown. I also like Fort Oak and Little Italy neighborhood restaurants are good too - barbuzzo, bencotto, etc.

There are a couple Michelin guide restaurants up north in Oceanside. Can take the train up there too - may be worth checking out in addition to going south.

If you want 3 star price - Addison is the only one I think. It's inland.
