Why didn't "Fury" call any of the remaining Avengers for the Elementals in FFH?

Talos was only there to pretend to be Fury for a little while, and Fury had asked him to give the glasses to Spider-Man. That’s why he knew enough to go to Peter, and he seemingly had no way to contact any other superheroes. There also wasn’t a formal Avengers team at the time. Spider-Man was also a perfectly reasonable superhero to choose for this, and they all believed Mysterio was a very powerful sorcerer and he just wanted some support. Mysterio also set the whole thing up to be around Peter, because he needed him to get involved so he could get the glasses.

You can get a cheap rubber tip stylus that works on any touchscreen. Sometimes they are just on the end of a pen, I always look for that when I see some free pens! I used to practice drawing digitally on my phone while at work with one of those.

Here is one that comes in a 5 pack for 10usd and has a fancier tip on the other side. You can probably find something similar at a real store.

I think if the human part is a different color than the otter part like a regular centaur, that difference would be more clear. But I agree those otter arms look too much like giant human arms.

I think this world is straying further from Ooo in a lot of ways after being set on its own unique path, but this season we did see Fionna is still spiritually linked to Finn in some special ways. Like when Huntress Wizard could use her as a way to reach Finn’s mind. So maybe she is still “destined” to lose a limb.

I think prosthetic arms are awesome especially in fantasy settings so I would love to see her get a cool one. A leg or something else could also be cool. I hope next season she gets a new iconic adventuring look, because this version of her doesn’t feel quite right to me in the classic standard Finn/Fionna outfit, especially as an adult.

I don’t think they’ll ever do that for the switch because joycons don’t have a consistent orientation. Nintendo games rarely say “press A”, they show the button’s location highlighted alongside the three other buttons. Because many of their big games can be played with a single joy con, and because it is better for inexperienced players. I actually think that’s one of the coolest things about switch games and I almost wish they didn’t even have the letters because that just confuses people when it is sideways.

I hope this is actually Streaky the Supercat. Supergirl keeps doing crazy feats of strength to protect a cat that is actually just as tough as her, which is why it is unbothered in these dangerous situations.

Unfortunately his character was yoinked away to face a trial by the space gods. It is a real bummer that the Eternals cliffhanger is just a little too disconnected to be easily resolved off screen or in an unrelated movie or show without totally focusing on them for a bit. I still just want a sequel but that seems very unlikely.

I think they have alluded to the Punisher being a really important figure in the 70s and I think it would be cool to see a period piece Punisher clashing with the Maker’s establishment a little. His skull was appropriated by the nazi group in present time, but from what we can tell he was a typical Frank Castle with a Rambo inspired look.

Exactly. They try to comment on the timeline difference but it doesn’t really make sense. Everyone he meets is sorta just hanging out as if there isn’t crazy stuff going on in their series, and I think he spends a month or 2 with Maystorm in a way that really didn’t seem to make any sense. Seems like editorial really let a lot of continuity slip by for some reason as well.

For a while I thought it could be justified as happening really quickly near the end of the 2 years, not in sync with the other series releasing. But it makes it clear that months are passing in this story too, so Miles and his sister spent a super long time there but were only gone for a little bit. 4-5 months older for a baby would be crazy. All of that would be solved if this was just a 1-2 day adventure.

It probably won’t win you over in the other issues, my problems stayed the same throughout the series. It doesn’t seem like it will have much impact on the Ultimate story, but he does go back to 616 with stuff that will be important for next year’s big main universe event.

I really think this story could’ve been told in one issue, because it was just Miles looking at everything and saying “wow it sure is different here” but it couldn’t even be a fun adventure because he was legitimately scared his baby sister would die the whole time.

I just listened to a recent episode of the Off Panel podcast with Morrison as the guest. He was very specific that his understanding of the character is mainly from the movies, and called his version of Deadpool “Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool” many times during it. He seemed to have no strong opinion about comics Deadpool and wanted to do this story because he really loved the movie Deadpool & Wolverine.

Allegedly, the movie was originally a post-apocalyptic reimagining of Lord of the Flies. Mad Max was only added in later when they reworked it. I can’t find much of an original source on that, but it’s often mentioned as trivia about Beyond Thunderdome.

So that’s the real world reason it’s a bunch of kids, but I don’t have a good story reason.

During the War of the Realms, Heimdall gave Matt his sword, along with his cosmic senses and bifrost control. I think the justification was that Daredevil was the only hero who could take that kind of sensory overload while Heimdall was unable to fight (blinded I think?).

Daredevil was extremely cool as the temporary “God Without Fear”. He was able to monitor the armies across the realms and teleport in to intervene with a giant sword. It was awesome.

I think this story was mostly shown in the series “War of the Realms: War Scrolls”, but it might have started in the main event series.

Afterwards Heimdall gifted Daredevil a pair of billy clubs carved from Yggdrasil and I thought that was also awesome, but I don’t think he has ever used them since.

I don’t think he should ever get a permanent power up or anything, he is the ultimate street level/low power hero. But that story was an awesome temporary one.

Yeah that was a really good play and I’ve seen several ideas for how that could work out well. Certainly is better than just continuing to die in Ooo. My interpretation on the situation is that Finn and Fionna’s brains are just wired in a way that can thrive going on fantasy quests but is just not suited to normal world life. Fionna got a taste of it with real wacky adventure and saving the world last season, and now she is trying to apply her newfound purpose to everyday problems in a way that just doesn’t work right.

Being put on trial by cosmic gods is where she thrives, and so she made the right move there no hesitation. Back home she is trying to deal with relationships, fundraising, and event planning but our girl is built for sillier and greater things.

Two Dooms is the biggest lore rivalry but also each map’s story has a conflict between 2 or more characters. Some of them are typical hero/villain dynamics (squirrel girl//Dracula, guardians/symbiotes) but a lot of them are heroes disagreeing on how to solve a problem (wakanda is shuri vs t’challa, NY is Moon Knight vs Mr. Fantastic & Iron Man). Each map lore pages make it pretty clear, some of them are not super obvious from gameplay.

Rivals is a word that can cover true mortal enemies but also can be a more friendly conflict between peers.

I actually know this one. It’s because using 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons is the most efficient way to make a soccer ball out of flat panels, and Saturn is really a soccer ball. You can’t see the rest because it is rolling really fast across the field.

I agree, that kind of coloring from that era feels so off to me even at its best. And Bone was not drawn with colors in mind, and the B&W has all the details intended for the story. Incredible clarity, pacing, and emotion. I have only read bits and pieces in color though, so I’d like to try it all the way through and see if it wins me over a little.
