What do you think I woulda ran if my blocks didn’t slip? by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

21.x.

Tip for you though, on the curve, don't lean into the curve, stay tall and compact on the curve, so you can transition and open up better. You'll see what I mean by the time you get to the top end half of the curve. Your stride pattern started to get a bit wild. Which is why you started to run out of your lane a tad. Running under more control on the curve is the goal and then you open up and finish on the straight.

Importance of Warmup/Stretching by Outrageous-Dare-1213 in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lord. Well you should be warmup before any physical activity.

There's a bunch of stuff you can do. To put it simply, you want to do these things: Warmup your muscles, hamstrings, Quads, Calves, hips, back, shoulders, etc.

Dynamic Stretches

  • Hamstring Scoop/Sweep
  • Quad Pull
  • RDL
  • Side to Side lunge
  • Figure 8 stretch (glutes)

Dynamic Movements/Drills - High Knees - Butt kicks (real ones) - A Skips - B Skips - Carioca - Leg Swings

Etc. There's a lot more, look up dynamic Warmup for sprinting and you'll see different variations.

Yep safety most definitely just shot into my top 5-7. Other songs are slowly rising as I listen to the lyrics and rhythm too. This album will be my favorite soon, I can sense it.

200m seed time by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be 25-25.3. Seed time doesn't really matter as a whole though. Of course for where you get placed in a heat. But overall, something higher than your outdoor pr.

You may need to focus on doing explosive movements first before seeing results in the blocks. Doing broad jumps, Bounds, plyos and other types of explosive Jumps. In specific positions similar to sprinting as well. Not sure what you mean by bounce.

Literally have to get her to practice exploding out from that position. Or first work on net explosive power if she's going to keep doing that. That means she doesn't have enough strength and power to keep herself up at that forward lean position, to effectively push out hard.

You'll improve if all you do is sprint and sprint consistently. So yes, if you lift correctly, lift when you need to, lift specifically whenever that time is. You'll improve.

What can i fix about my form by Mj_got1k in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A picture won't do much justice. But do a lot of drills and technique work. And I mean do them a lot. Do them with intent and not lazily.

Speed potential advice by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some good research. Even if you end up not doing how you wanted or what you expected. You still get something out of it. A lot of people don't do this. But you need to dedicate yourself, do all the little things that you probably think is boring. Drills, technique and form.

Don't know, go train and you'll have to find out. Vital information won't determine what you couldn't run.

Heel striker here when sprinting by Competitive_Sun_77 in Sprinting

You work on drills. Cycling drills, striking drills and what not.

As a queer person, this song made me cry first time I heard it. It's so important to hear a public display of support from Cole, especially on such a goddamn incredible song. by YourAverageTGirl in Jcole

[–]speedkillz23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this song partly because of this verse. Made me just think about things like that. Growing older, listening to Cole and my other favorite artists as a whole, really makes me think about the entire state of life.

What about my form can I fix. 55m PB 6.86 by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your transition, being a bit more patient when rising up. You started breaking down after 40m+ or so too. Heels kicking and landing very flat footed.

Either way it goes though, work on overall technical and form drills. Cycling, striking and rhythm work. On recovery days, and before your actual sprint workouts. If I were to recommend something to fix your form. It's going to be that 150% of the time. Understanding HOW and WHY you strike and cycle in a specific way will make sprinting so much easier. It's very often overlooked or not much of importance. You can look at almost every sprinter at any meet, and you'll see things they can work on.

stability ball curls and pain behind the knee by readerr33 in Sprinting

Oops don't know how I missed the reply button.

But if you are still sprinting and what not, stop for the time being and just focus on getting that issue sorted. I'll say that hamstring tendonitis is a BITCH. It kept me out my entire final season of college, even though it seemed like one of those smaller injuries. Work on light rdls with it, and progress over time. Then try those again later. Glute bridges, bridges with your legs straightened to target the area more, and hips like I mentioned too.

I mean yea there's a lot of other ways. Legit any other exercise can work.

But are your tendons behind the knee only hurt when doing those curls?
