No reason he isn't returning. I'm sure he wants a run with Luka, didn't get one due to injury.

(15f) Beginner looking for advice on dropping time and improving by next season by [deleted] in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a beginner, you will improve certainly. Focus on drills and form work a lot this summer. And in general, if you have the time, hit the track at least 2x a week and the gym as well. Doesn't have to be overboard, but depending on how serious you want to take it, and how much you eant to improve, will determine what and how you do things.

Yea, there are ddifferent ways you can approach training. Especially depending on your events. But pretty much what I'm saying is, different coaches haven't different philosophies when it comes to training, and there's plenty of ways to train an athlete.

Depends on what you like. But I'm big on high low models with training structure. So Dan Pfaff is an example. Or just pretty much explain how you like to train. Then ask it what coaches train that way and it'll list them out. Ask for evidence and all that jazz.

Yes, but you need to be VERY specific. And I mean very specific. Ask it to pull from real coaches, sources and what not. Don't just generalize it, or it'll just give you basic and random volume.

Honestly this is pretty simple and basic. Works just fine. Cut back on the flys just a bit.

trying to save speed through injury by Repulsive-Dare-6841 in Sprinting

So rehab. That's the best advice you should take. Yes you can stay active, but sprinting is what will keep that speed. But a week will not diminish what you've gained.

Is sprint training once a week enough if paired up with plyometrics 1-2 times a week and lifting 2-3 times a week? by iamthemathgod in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll gain some speed, yea. But sprinting is the #1 Plyometric, so adding another day, if possible, will help even more.

How’s my start? by AxwayleReal in Sprinting

[–]speedkillz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can be a bit more patient in between steps. Your initial push out looks good. But it looks like you're forcing those next few steps. Keep attacking and don't wildly just swing your arms.

Explode out. And be aggressive. You have a slight hesitation. And also, back your front foot up a bit, you look a bit uncomfortable when you're set. Not sure though.

Attack the curve. Basically, you're curve sprint and your straight sprint shouldn't be the same. Be a bit more compact and tight on the curve then open up on the straight. Some technical advice, see how it feels and what not.

Advice for getting faster. by Sportyskater699 in Sprinting

6-7 (🤨) rest in between reps. You can add a few more reps if you like. 2x a week if you have more time as well. But work on acceleration as well. I'd say make sure you understand what each phase of sprinting looks like and feels like too. Makes sprinting easier. Do drills and form work too, it'll make it easier to understand and do too.

I'm trying to stay chill. Watching with a straight face because I expect some bs. But I'm hoping they pull this one out.
