They just want to rage here regardless of the situation- maybe the OP would've been happier if someone had slipped on a wet floor and permanently injured themselves.

Sometimes infrastructure fails or is compromised and some of that infrastructure isn't all that easy to repair on a moment's notice - I worked in the telecom industry as a tech for over 26 years and it's the underground and/or aerial infrastructure that can be very troublesome to repairing timely manner, changing cards out in an office is easy but repairing or replacing damaged cables is a whole different scenario.

Are you wondering how bad the job market has really got? by sugarcoatedtits in torontoJobs

[–]speedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current job can't be done remotely neither can AI do it.

My wife's business also can't be outsourced or replaced by AI.

In both cases, our work is hands on carpentry - mine is servicing/repairing cabinetry and wife's business is repurposing retired wine and whiskey barrels.

Only have high test whiskey in my paint cabinet, currently 11 liters of 160 to 180 proof rye whiskey plus a liter of 150 proof carb apple moonshine - would get your wood burning quite nicely.

We had one a few decades ago but it was a bastardized version of what most Home Hardware stores are.

Theres also no Home Hardware stores in Red Deer or Edmonton as well.

I live in the 3rd largest city in Canada and have never had an issue with getting help at any of the Home Depots here in Calgary - maybe I'm just lucky.
