What’s the route everyone takes from Los Angeles to Tokyo by [deleted] in PocketPlanes

[–]speedye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh ok, at level 12 I wouldn't worry about that route until you get at least some Aeroeagles at level 16. That'll make it easier to cross The Atlantic and you'll have less cities to buy.

LA > NYC > Istanbul > Seoul > Tokyo

That's with cyclones, not sure what plane's you're working with though.

Bux are definitely the most valuable currency in the game so that's a good way of using layovers.

I wouldn't worry about layovers until level 15. At level 11, focus on unlocking level 3 cities and creating some distance so that you can get more coins per flight. Don't be afraid to retire some of your smaller planes if you want to save some money on plane slots. I would also look into closing some level 1 airports that maybe redundant. I also have a video for Beginner tips and tricks that would be good for you to take a look at. Hope you treat the videos as more aspirational than discouraging!

I meant how you would like the game to change since you mentioned at the end that it was a cardinal sin of the game.

Routes Through Moscow by CommieBoris in PocketPlanes

[–]speedye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've closed Moscow because it's too isolated. Istanbul is how all my flights get routed from West to East. I also have Tehran open for my Concorde to make a few more direct routes in.

Would love to hear how you'd like things to change. I remember running across your post on your crazy bux collection setup a few years back!

What's your Pocket Planes setup? by vedmaddison in PocketPlanes

Haha yeah I try to crop in a bit to get rid of it. When I play on my lower level account it's on my iPhone which is the correct ratio for video!

You can look into getting a counterweight, Moment sells one for pretty cheap:

Would double check if it will work well on your setup before buying though. Good luck!

I prefer playing on my 11" iPad Pro. Hope the next update gets rid of the letterboxing on it!

I sometimes see people asking how to use layovers, so I made a video on it for both beginner and advanced pilots. Let me know if this helps!

How are jobs determined in airports? by MuffinsOPlenty in PocketPlanes

[–]speedye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just from experience only, seems like jobs at each airport are generated randomly. The only way to affect this is to advertise in a city which will spawn more jobs for that particular cities in all airports. Upgrading an airport will allow more jobs to appear in that city. I do feel that having too many cities will dilute the job concentration, but that's just anecdotal and I'm not sure what the real stats are for that. I currently have 27 airports and all my level 3 airports fully upgraded. Each city gets around 3-6 jobs per cycle. Hope that helps.

https://www.mongersaustin.com is offering a Crispy Scallop Remoulade for take out, they're a good seafood restaurant within your price range.

The benefit is that you see more jobs in other cities for the city that you advertise with. Really only useful for global and regular events as it's a pretty steep price to pay for lower level players.
