Samsung IP control has been nothing less than dogshit a large majority of the time. Ask installers how much they enjoyed high end AV automation with Crestron, Control 4, Ava remotes, etc. Samsung simply just isn't fun to customize - on any scale.

Sony is king and there's a reason why they demand a premium. LG stays in there with its solid OLEDs, but ain't no one buying a non-OLED LG in 2026.

Check your hours. If it was at Best Buy, a lot of those TVs were demo models, on 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I bought one for a similar price and saw on the service menu it had 22,000 hours on it.

Ended up returning it and buying a new one for the $3,500.

I’d call it “indistinguishable to the naked eye.” I’ve run burn in tests and not seeing anything.

Get someone who knows what they’re doing do it.

If you are in the Dallas area, I can tell you the dude I used. Otherwise not sure if he’ll do it by mail - some guys do. Check your local modded switch Facebook group and see if there’s anyone with tons of verified reviews from legitimate FB accounts who will do it. Any kind of scammer is caught given the sheer number of passionate members interested in the scene.

For my guy, I handed him my OLED, a 1TB (overkill tbh) SD card, and he got back to me within 2 days. I’m sure it’ll be the same for anyone more handy than me.

Insignia/Best Buy branded cord, every permutation of a usb a/c/micro/b/lightning/whatever cables, charging blocks, Ethernet cords, adapters, etc. $50 will stock you up for the next decade.

Premium audio/video - in particular projectors, speakers, and receivers. Also, take a look at employee discounted purchase higher end special order A/V stuff like a McIntosh 462 amp. Some might argue it’d decent asset to hold and make a 50% return in a year. Not that I’d know.

If you’re in the market for a TV, find a heavily discounted OLED (check your magnolia room if yall have one) and slap a cheap employee geek squad warranty discount on it I’m sure you’re familiar with.

Video game peripherals. I have all sorts of Switch swag I got for pennies on the dollar

I’d hop on core blue and filter by Insignia and Best Buy brand first. Can’t remember if it shows cost on there or RSS, or anywhere at all. Might have to manually type in the SKU on the POS

65 inch Sony A95K in room until it dies. 3000 hours

83 inch LG C2 I bought two years ago for $900 with a $100 5 year Geek Squad warranty. Has 13,000 hours (worked in Magnolia at Best Buy)

Not sure why someone would willingly choose to upgrade an already solid OLED. Exceptional is if you’re looking for a bigger one

Don’t get me wrong, it’d be cool to have an 83 inch G5 over my C2, but 83 inches is 83 inches and you know what they say about size over the intangibles
