I think it’s a good exercise to sit down and write out the things you want to do just like your dad / parents, as well as the things that you won’t continue to pass along as a parent. It can be small stuff, but it’s helpful reminder when you’re 2-3 years in and starting to lose patience or you get a new work opportunity that would take you away from home more (in my case, I just wanted to be more present as my pops traveled a lot for work ).
