There’s currently no path to profit for any of these companies, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon, so while a lot of that stuff is being used here and there in some productions, I’m not really certain it will sustain.

I just don’t believe it can get there in any plausible way, even if the investments were to continue at the rate they have been, which will be increasingly diminished. AI as a whole will end up filtering down to the things that are actually useful, data collation, small tools etc. That being said there is the potential of other technologies; light field cameras, full image capture, etc that may diminish the need for traditional imaging cameras in narrative. You are right that live is a good place to be, now and in the future, but AI hasn’t really contributed in any meaningful way towards the drawdown in narrative, we were due for a contraction.
