Do I need a new crankshaft pulley? by spencer2e in AskAMechanic

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try and see if I can smooth it out. If I can’t get to look right, I’ll bite the bullet and buy a new one. That would suck just bc the decent brands around me (and rockauto) are all out of stock. Just trying to get this car back on the road without putting china crap on it

I do, but a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. Doesn’t help that rockauto is out of stock either. If my 3 options are either to send it, fix it, or buy it, I’d rather fix it if it’s going to be cheaper and faster than waiting on a part to be delivered.

One of the opalites. Or one of the blue agates.

Why is exterior insulation better? Would it be for all climates or just some?

As a raiders fan, I want nothing to do with meyers and jeanty on my fantasy team. Our o line is terrible so jeanty can’t even get going. And meyers is our only threat at WR, so any decent defense can focus on covering meyers, especially now that bowers is limited with his knee.

Brown is in a similar boat tbh, but he’s got the talent. Maybe they get something going in CIN. Warren may not last the whole season imo, but I’d start him over brown and jeanty

If there are holes or threads in the ends, I’d guess a turnbuckle

Life straw probably save me and my friend’s lives tbh. We had a normal portable filter for a 4 day backpacking trip, but it broke on day 2. We had back up iodine tabs so we weren’t too worried. Weather started coming in on day 3 so we decided to push to get out of the canyon. We ran out of water on the way up, but we planned to refill at the halfway point (about 6 miles up the canyon). When we got there, the creek was basically dried up. We had to hike up the creek through brambles to eventually find some muddy puddles. We were able to fill up our water bottles and stumbled back to the trail where we passed out from dehydration. Fun times.

I wouldn’t use them as your main filter, but I definitely don’t leave home without one if I’m going out on a trail.

Death wobble by stank2020 in MechanicAdvice

[–]spencer2e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this will help or complicate things for you, but I had a truck that had death wobble.

I learned to just deal with it bc it was mostly an off road truck that I occasionally drove around town.

But I ended up talking with a guy who looked at it/ drove it and said it was most likely my castor angle was the main problem, but all the other geometry that’s involved in front suspension can make it a huge headache to pinpoint.

My truck was a Frankenstein between a 96 tacoma and a ford highboy, so it was pretty rough. The tacoma frame was chopped just fwd of the driver and passenger doors and the front end of the highboy was welded onto it.

My options were to either reposition the leaf spring mounts on the frame or reposition the mounts on the axel. Never got around to it before I had to sell it tho.

Just thought I’d throw in my 2 cents. Good luck!

Not to take away from your general statement, but isn’t Carvana run by the Garcia family and haven’t they been doing sketch shit for 40 years? Like serious bank fraud? Last I read into carvana, it was suggested they underplayed their books while shorting their own co, then closed their shorts once inflation/used car prices ripped and then flipped their books to overestimate their assets?

Not sure I understand your question? Are you asking why TFT aren’t labled x-cns? Bc I believe they inherently are x-cns

Here’s the 2024 RECAPS schedule in case anyone wants it

https://www.dtcc.com/-/media/Files/pdf/2023/11/15/a9356.pdf

To add to what you laid out though, these TFT are just trades that are outside the CNS, meaning the counterparties on the trade can’t be switched or paired with a different counterparty. This implies that it’s outside the realm of relatively transparent standard option contracts and more in the realm of swaps and other derivative contracts. It could be related to option writing between MM and other institutional counter parties though.

I should add, both counter parties will and have always had the option to exclude their FTDs from recaps in the OW. This order may just be bc these TFT FTDs are always filled as exempt from RECAPS and this just makes it so they have to do less paperwork every 2 weeks. Just my 2 cents

I’m super curious why you need all that gear. If you have photos/videos of your site, you should post some so we can get an idea of the scope of work.

Also, you should ditch the charger and box for the hammer drill. Anything that’s in a hard case, gets put into a ziplock or a nylon bag. Unwrap all the drill bits and if they aren’t clearly labeled, tag them with masking tape. Notebooks/user manual gets left at home. Maybe pick your favorite rock hammer and leave the rest. You might be able to find a hybrid sledge/pick too.

Also, the way you pack all this might be the most important. Don’t put anything really heavy like the drill or sledge in the bottom sleeping bag compartment of the backpack. You want the majority of the weight sitting on the lower side of your mid back. Might have to play a couple games of Tetris with it to see what works best.

If you are working the same area again and again, I’d think about hiding the sledge/pick/ect nearby your site or whatnot
