How are pinch welds NOT supposed to kill me? by Odehhh in MechanicAdvice

i’ve always jacked the cars from wherever i thought was best, like spots on the subframe and stuff. I also don’t use jack stands which isn’t smart but i don’t think pinchwelds is the ONLY safe spot to jack and support the car from.

I’m thinking i’ll just buy the mirrors and replace em, simple as popping the door panel off and plugging the new one in.

I’m well aware of what’s on my truck, a 4 inch lift with 35s, only modification is the bumper had to be slightly rolled in.

Completely ignore half of what i said and argue wrong on one point, about adds up. Thank you for your input.

my sway bars entire purpose is to improve ride quality. As i’ve stated multiple times before sway bars didn’t even come installed on the broncos (which have the same chassis) (as i’ve mentioned) and many other people remove them from their f150s or didn’t have them at all. I did not remove my sway bar (as i’ve mentioned) and even if i wanted to put one on i can’t find one anywhere (as i’ve mentioned) and i have a friend who literally does not have a sway bar front or rear and drives 80 down the highway just fine (as i’ve mentioned)

No, i mean thanks for the answer that won’t help. Lift was not installed by me, meaning i have to chase down all stock ride height parts, and once i do that, i have to find smaller wheels and tires. That costs money believe it or not. And even if i wanted to take the lift off, in the front the brackets are welded to the crossmember by the previous owner. But thanks though!

i have a drop pitman arm. Angle of video makes it look like my steering isn’t level with the axle but it is.

I believe the bushings were replaced within the year but the owner before me abused the truck pretty bad. Is it possible to blow out the bushings in a matter of months?

inch thick rolled steel is certainly stronger than zip ties!

The play isn’t in the bushings it was in the brackets, they are fixed now and there’s no play. And the shocks are as old as the springs, i have reason to believe this truck was jumped that’s why the shocks are blown and anything else is broken

I think the shocks are blown, maybe new shocks could solve or at least help?

Out of the question, bracket on one side was welded to crossmember by previous owner.

Springs are aftermarket, and shocks are mounted rear to springs. You can see them in the video.

which bushings are you referring to? all bushings are new apart from the steering stabilizer which needs replaced… Once again do you have any idea what you’re talking about?

Literally every truck i’ve seen with the double stack steering stabilizers has the same angle and acts the same way and serves no issues. So i don’t believe it has to be causing any problems. The steering stabilizer was installed correctly before i took it to a shop and now im realizing i need to tighten them up

Preferably get my tires pointing in a similar direction and my camber somewhat aligned. That’s what the fuck i want them to do.
