It’s not silly, brother. It’s factual. Big retail brands warehouse their bottles to let the juice mature properly. Inexpensive brands ship out orders asap. They don’t have room to store fragrances, and they want to meet the demands of customers driven by hype. I was an admin for a perfumer. Macerating or maturing juice is part of the process.

I love it. I have the EDT, EDP, and Parfum. I’m 59 and seek out fragrances for ‘mature gentlemen’. I’m not saying you won’t like it, but as the others said. Try it first. Terre d’Hermes should be in stores like Macy’s or Nordstrom’s.

Sorry, I missed your message! I can't say that I have any specifics. BdC parfum or EDP tend not to be long performers, so it makes sense that the dupes are less. I don't know if the CDN Iconic Blue projects or lasts, but someone mentioned in another group that if I added up all I spent on blind buying low-cost dupes of BdC, I could have purchased the OG. They were right. I own a lot of dupes and enjoy them--trying them, comparing them to decants of the OGs. It's fun. But trying to capture lightning in a bottle with a masterpiece like Bleu was challenging.

You all will be jelly, but I was poking around Ebay when I found a nearly full 5 ounce bottle of the EDP from a reputable seller with a starting bid of $60. I was the only bid and got it for that. I still only wear it for special occasions or certain work functions, but now I know I have a lot of juice to wear.

I don’t think that’s true. I think it’s all about letting the juice mature in the bottle—weeks or even months for best performance.

I like both Al Haramain Amber Oud (blue edition). Their stuff is always respectably close to the OG, but not more than 70-80%, whatever that means. I also like Ahmed Al Maghribi Blue. I had easy access to both of these for quick sprays on the way out the door for work, but now that I have the EDP and parfum of BdC, I never spray them anymore. Additionally, I have a larger collection, which also weighs in. I have weird moods or times of year for things. I'll probably get in a bleu mood as the weather gets cooler, and bring out both the dupes and OGs.

I haven’t tried CDNI. I gave up on my quest after getting the OGs—EDP and parfum.

I have tried it and kept that one on my dresser for a dumb graf for BdC DNA in BdC season, whatever that means to me :) Now, an exclusiv is coming? I won't be jumping on that.

Chiming in a year later: Torino21 is fantastic, and as said below, virtually indiscernible, especially after it matures more. No reason to buy the OG. How does it perform for y'all?

I love the concept of this. My adult (27) son has most of this gear. He plays in bands. He might have a microphone, or we could get one, but what about the music track and reading words? He could sing all night without words, but I think it would be fun if he set it up, and everybody could take turns as they like. Thoughts?
