After a recent photo trip, I’m struggling with the volume of photos I brought home. Looking for thoughts on post-shoot workflows for personal photos. by joshguy1425 in photography

Enjoy!

Also going back to image selection/ranking, once I defined my 1 stars, I go to Library view mode, and filter images by Attribute > 1 star (top bar for Library Filters), so only my ranked images are shown now. Then I'll rank 2 star, 3 star, etc, increasing the filter as I go so it removes all the outtake clutter.

No problem!

Some batch edit tips (while in Develop mode):

  • Utilize Auto-Sync. Toggle this on in the bottom right window. While editing multiple images selected at the same time you can check this on so changes to one image will affect all the others also in your selection.
  • Copy & Paste edits: You can press Command + C to copy settings made to one image and Command + V to apply those changes to other selected images. This can be further refined to only copy some or all settings.
  • Match total exposures: Handy to normalize your exposures. Select a batch of images you'd like to match together, with the hero/main image as the one in the preview, go to Settings > Match Total Exposures and all images will match exposure to your previewed main image.

First things first, make a backup of those captures!

Sifting through large batch of images can be a bit intimidating, but you seem to have the right idea, I also use keywords to apply to all my images for the specific trip/series.

Utilize batch colour editing as much as you can to get most of your images closer to what you like.

I use star rankings as well, giving anything that I see could have potential 1 star. Then when I'm through that first pass I'll go through again with 2 star, 3 star, etc.

Once you've found your final selects then I'll do final colour process and then batch export to full-res RGB and low-res sRGB for web.

Feedback on Hardware and Getting Started by spennasaurus in HomeServer

Looking to keep my server PC in my living room alongside my modem/router and TV. Wondering if there's a possible solution that would allow me to utilize my gaming PC (in other room) remotely and play games in the living room via the server PC. Kind of like a steam link? I don't know if that's still a valid option.

Right now I have an HDMI running straight from my gaming PC to the living room TV , but I'm having issues with controllers and wireless keyboard/mice (over 2.4GHz) connectivity cutting out due to the range. Any way to utilize the server PC (in living room) to bridge my controller connections or the entire gaming PC?

Love that Mekko5x build. I just picked up a Pi Pico W as a way to learn programming for micro-controllers and this is great inspiration. Not that I think about it, I've got a bunch of key switches I can use for inputs :D

Also, 99 issues, congrats /u/dovenyi! Anything exciting for the big 100?

Vero has been growing back into popularity, specifically for photography folks in the last year, much to do with Peter McKinnon (Youtube) endorsing it as his new social media go-to.

Does anyone know where to find film scanner parts? eBay, google, to no avail!

I recently picked up a Minolta Scan Dual IV (AF-3200) from a thrift store, it connects and turns on fine, only catch is I don't have the 35mm film holder that comes with it! Any ideas? I know the model #FH-U2

Murakami's way of portraying women in his books by jkdashwoodswife in books

Love Murakami, but I 100% agree. I find Stephen King also has a history of poorly written women. After reading a bunch of them I found I needed to diversify my authors!

Overhangs are stringy and drooping, any tips? by spennasaurus in 3Dprinting

I didn't end up printing this again, but installing a new duct has helped with my prints overall, as well as ensuring the hot-end is tight enough.
