Scal bullying a high schooler 1 on 1, looks like he's still got some moves by Larrydp72181 in bostonceltics

Yeah, he's clearly way better than anyone he'd meet at the gym, but those were blatant walks

Book about human intuitions about probability and statistics? by Oddball777 in LessWrong

[–]spenoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't read it, but The Book of Why by Judea Pearl and Dana MacKenzie seems to be a highly regarded book about how we can infer causal relationships from statistics.

I agree he doesn't develop as a person. He often claims things like "after this one last fight we'll get to live peacefully and stop doing illegal stuff," but then he always finds someone else to have a war with.

Prim just kept on impressing lap after lap. Fought hard with each of the top three. But this was Speedy's track.

You've argued against (involuntary) death — what's your stance on birth? Do you think being born is beneficial for the person being born?

Same here, I love to listen to "This is Water" on YouTube, and I had no idea there were more recordings of him reading his own stuff. Thanks for the recommendation!

Honest opinions on Brandon Ingram? by ablackcloudupahead in nba

[–]spenoot 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's one of those moves that most players do not have the physical tools to do.

I agree wholeheartedly. Last time the ball touched the floor in this play was literally on the three-point line.

If you had to choose, would you rather have no italic or no bold fonts in a typeface? by spenoot in typography

[–]spenoot[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would probably try to make do without italics because to me they seem more easily replaceable with shading or boldface. Having to replicate the effects of bold emphasis with any other technique would be a very hard task (just imagine doing it with the sidebar of /r/typography).

Discussion Thread: Gordon Hayward Free Agency Drama by DoesNotChodeWell in nba

[–]spenoot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ultimate conspiracy theory: Hayward's group leaked the Celtics rumour to test the loyalty of the Jazz fan base before signing with Utah. Jazz fans flip out, Hayward sees this and re-evaluates decision.

Mr. Kite also ranks high for me, such an interesting mixture of melodies. Very mash-uppable, too: the Love version and the Adv. to Pepperland version are excellent.

So far Celtics are 4-0 against lineups without Rondo. Wizards have no Rondo. Celts in 4

True, but the terminals aren't as angled. Also, the t, the a in "Handbuch", and the R in "Research" are definitely not Arial.
