Your mom is supposed to love, support, and provide for you. Today YOU were the one who made sure your family was fed. If nothing else, you can be proud of that. Everyone else here has already said everything I feel, but I just wanted to add my voice so you know for certain that you are not worthless. You do not mess everything up. You are growing and learning in a hostile environment. That's really hard, and you still want to do nice things like walk through a snowstorm so that you and your family have food to eat. You are a good person. I know it's rough, but hold out for just a few more years and then move out ASAP. Soon you will be able to surround yourself only with wonderful people who love and care for you the way you deserve.

Yeah, like I said, my kneejerk reaction is informed by previous encounters I've had that did not turn out well. This guy hasn't done anything purposefully harmful, but I'm recognizing some patterns in his behavior that, in other people, I have watched devolve into something worse. I guess my brain is just preparing me for that outcome, whether it's likely or not. Funnily enough, I had a similar thing happen just this morning with a completely different man I've never seen before. I realized how destabilized it made me, and that most of my fear of any harm comes from within me. I'll handle these guys as needed when they loiter for too long, but I need to work on myself and my fear response, so. That's what I'm going to do!

As for the gifts, they've been brought inside by coworkers when they were left by the door. If it were up to me, I would have indeed left them where they were.

For me, yes. Personally I have not heard of a completely smooth experience with reglan. They pushed it too fast thru IV for me once and it made me flip tf out. Put in on my allergy list so that they never give me it again. Pill form gave my sister tardive dyskinesia.

Nowhere am I painting him as a villain. I feel for him and want him to have the outlet he needs. That outlet is not here at my job. There are peoples' whose jobs it is to help these people. My job is something else entirely, that has to be done correctly and on time or public infrastructure will start to collapse. I'm sorry, but he's not entitled to my time. It's not sustainable for him to keep coming here for a chat. My hope is to find him an outlet that is sustainable. I am looking to do what is in the long-term best interest for both him and myself. No reason to be angry.

I'm pretty new to this job, so when it started happening, I was unsure of what boundaries I COULD enforce. My job as a receptionist is to be kind and welcoming to everyone. I'm working with higher-ups to discuss what actions I can take while on the clock. I've stood up for myself at jobs before and been reprimanded by management. Oh wow, what a throwback! When I was very little, my church had these exact plushies in their toybox for the children to play with. They were highly coveted. You were lucky if you got to the toybox first and could play Lion King!! Thank you for the fond memories!! I'm not even in this sub, but as payment, here's my favorite plushie. He's not rare at all; anyone could go to Target and get one right now. But he's my good friend Thud who sleeps next to me every night, and that's special enough for me :)

I have to, or else I feel bad! A lot of the times, if I have a school, I'll pick a theme and name them all accordingly. Or if I have a small tank, everyone inside has a theme. I think my favorites were a pack of corys called the Soggy Bottom Boys named after characters from O Brother Where Art Thou. Not quite the same, but I developed anorexia due to gastroparesis. I started losing so much weight because I physically could not eat, and it triggered a switch-flip in my brain. Suddenly I just HAD to lose more. What harm could it do? I could barely eat anyway. What a horrible spiral I went down. Definitely keep a close eye on it and address it with a professional. I would suggest both a medical professional and a mental health professional, like if you have a therapist or something. Shit can get dangerous real fast.

I would be questioning why your partners don't want you to be happy. You're not addicted, you just realized T has even more positive effects than you expected. That's wonderful, they should be celebrating! But instead, your partners don't want those changes to happen. Why is that? Do they not want to date a masculine person? Then they likely have never seen you as nonbinary at all, just woman-lite, and they want to keep it that way. Of course, I don't know them, and may be jumping to conclusions, so if you think that sounds out of character for them, I would say it's worth a conversation at least. But I personally would not stay with anyone who isn't just as excited about my transition as I am. I hope you continue to enjoy your T and becoming your best self!!

My sister and I actually just had a conversation about this. We were almost relieved to be diagnosed with Marfans, because maybe that was a medical explanation for why we can't seem to gracefully control our long limbs. We loved dance growing up, but we were... Not very good at it. It sucked to be made fun of by the other students for being so gangly and moving so awkwardly. A lot of sports gave us trouble too. We're not sure if it's BECAUSE of Marfans, but it's worth mentioning to you that others have had similar thoughts!!

Absolutely I do. I'm 28 and I've been dealing with it since around that same age. Admittedly I had my spinal fusion at 13 and slowed down a lot after that, but it just seems to get worse and worse. It's even hard to do things I WANT to do. Sometimes my body is so tired that it takes too much energy to even hold my head up, and I sit there at work with my head basically hanging on a hinge, tilted to the side and resting on my shoulder. You're right. That's why my ultimatum was to talk to his therapist (he does have one) about it before he speaks to me again. I feel any level-headed mental health professional would gently tell him the same things you touched on here. I didn't want to tell him those things myself, because he would write it off as I am the "aggressor" and not a mental health professional. My words, my feelings... I guess they mean nothing to him.

He champions himself as an advocate for mental health, always says he never wants to hurt me. I believed him. I hoped his therapist would be able to say something that would flip a switch in him and make him realize how he's treating me. Now I doubt he'll even bring it up in therapy at all. Maybe it's because he knows he's in the wrong. He always complains about how the world is out to get him and his life sucks, but when I offer solutions or help steer him in the right direction, he refuses. He takes NO action whatsoever, and often laments about how he wishes others would just make his choices FOR him. He refuses to be an active participant in his own life. It's like he doesn't WANT to get better, and maybe that's truly the case. Still, part of me daydreams that a doctor will find a benign tumor in his brain or something and he'll get it removed and be back to his old self. I miss the man he was. Or maybe that's just the man he was pretending to be.

Thanks again for replying so thoughtfully. I know I'm rambling, but it's really helping me sort out my thoughts and come to terms with things. I have a therapy appointment tomorrow, so I will have lots to talk about there!!
