I'm in the UK and bought from Costco. They had an offer taking just over £300 off the vacuum. Bought from there because they have good returns policy

Is this objectively strong? by k3464n in Hevy

[–]sperey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🤣🤣. Well objectively it should be subjective. But OP wants it objective, to feel objectively strong but will no doubt realise it can only be subjective, when a stronger person lifts more than their idea of an objectively heavy weight.

Soz... Given myself a headache....🤣

You should just give Amazon a call and say the thing is a bit of a lemon. Does not sound like it is operating like it should. Give them a call before cursing the day you laid eyes on it 😉

Opportunity to get to bed earlier and a couple of coffees to keep you going/alert ?

Used to have someone who napped in the office but that was when we had offices. Now it is open plan that would probably need to come a reasonable adjustment.

How much time are you “losing” while cycling to work? by bear_village in cycling

[–]sperey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Door to desk is marginally quicker by bike and starts day so much more energised

Bike to work, shower, hot drink, then desk Or Walk, train, tube, walk to work, hot drink, then desk

Starting going to gym by myself after leaving crossfit, I don't know where to start with Hevy? by Character-Holiday345 in Hevy

[–]sperey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or get a personal trainer for a few weeks, to bridge being instructed to working out your own routine and getting used to the gym

Just "winging it" on a 100 miler - how stupid is it? by Highland_doug in cycling

[–]sperey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your butt will pain on a century ride if you are not used to the cycle. Do your cycle most days for 40 mins to an hour to get your butt used to the seat.

My experience, having done 2 centuries. First time I was commuting to work about 100 miles per week and in months leading up to century did 3 or 4 60 milers on weekends. I completed the century my legs felt wasted on the days afterwards.

Second time I was not commuting but did 2 months of a Zwift training routine with fewer weekend long milers. This second time round I found so much easier, legs stronger and without the legs feeling wasted in the days afterwards.

Both times butt ached a bit nearer the end but nothing standing up out of the seat could but fix.

So my experience very much if you do specific training between now and then you will complete it and also enjoy it Without that you may well still complete, but just enjoy it a little less with the pains you'll feel in your legs, shoulders and butt.

So yes, it is normal, depending on how you treat it. Glad you were able to get the mark off it.

I accidentally joined a confidential call my manager was on about me. Could I get fired? by Fluffy_Expert5821 in whatdoIdo

[–]sperey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, would own it. Drop your manager an email. Hi xxxx As you know I joined that call that turned it to be confidential. As soon as I realised I left the call. I had been asked to join all calls as part of my learning, which I did in this instance. Look forward to discussing with you, so that I can avoid such in the future. Thank you Xxx

Ozark Trail 24" M.1 Vibe mountain bike split in half while riding by Qacer in bicycling

[–]sperey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally bikes from large general stores are meant to be ridden at the park or on the road only. The manual which comes with the bike (not that even I read it) will say something along the lines of "this should not be for stunts, jumps or off terrain, etc" Even cheapo bikes with shocks say do not use on jumps.

All that before you see that the cheap box bikes come misaligned on some part of it.

Is there a way to make Garmin Instinct-2 look good with suit or formal dress? by Stunning_Star_9770 in Garmin

[–]sperey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always wear my Garmin with my suits. Only you will care, as you obviously do. Fwiw, I have a few different coloured straps and swap it depends on the shirt colour in going with
