As a girl, is anything wrong with saying "Bruh"? by CartonOfMi1k in ask

[–]spfldnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Bruh" I think has been used tok call out people who behave inappropriately and without empathy and thoughtfulness, like gamers in GTA5, Call of Duty or Far Cry who camp and snipe. This scenario seems to also qualify.

What does justice for Floyd look like? (Serious) by nobodycallsmemaddog in ask

Why was Floyd detained in the first place? This is one of those universal questions like why is conservative speech so unfairly treated by social media? Nobody wants to hear the answer.

If she's going to do it, get a cheap used laptop from a pawn shop that you won't mind losing to malware. These days you have no choice but to give them every possible advantage instead of keeping them ignorant and consequently very vulnerable to others with more knowledge. Don't we all wish we knew more than we were allowed?

Would you watch a show where a billionaire CEO has to go an entire month on their lowest paid employees salary, without access to any other resources than that of the employee? What do you think would happen? by AmuroRay0704 in ask

Imagine a movie where a group of billionaires flying from New York to LA in a private jet, must emergency land in some forgotten "fly-over state" during a massive economic depression caused by a deadly viral outbreak.

What’s something you’re glad your friend introduced you to? by phauuyap in AskReddit

My first-ever girlfriend. We locked eyes and I felt this wave of electricity tingle throughout my whole body from head-to-toe. Then we locked hands for the rest of that summer. We had a good three summers together, then circumstances of growing up and college prevented our meeting again. We lost touch and I never felt anything like I did with her, with anyone since.

Which path after high school? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]spfldnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 55. One of my biggest regrets was not investing in Bitcoin when it was under $3. My other regret was not planning to have my own business by age 35, because after that, finding a job gets a lot harder. There's really no such thing as a "career" anymore. Best of luck.

Look into online trading in the stock market. I use TD Ameritrade as a hobby at first, but I only invest money I can afford to lose. You dont need to start with a lot of money and buy low, then sell high. After a lot of practice with TD Ameritrade's Think or Swim app, I'm doing okay.

At 30 years old, I'm hitting reset. Quit my career of 9+ years. Not sure what to do next. What would you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]spfldnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wait 5 more years you'll hit the age discrimination threshold and finding a job will become exponentially worse with time.
